use a separate earth easiest solution or find the real earth as it sounds like your using the illumination wire not the earth as when you turn your lights on power is coming through that lead stopping the screen earthing,when there off its acting as an earth

will work but if oyu blow the fuse it means no radio and you have to take it out,easier to change on cig lighter hardwire as many as you like :)

as far as i know the dash etc is the same.your right fuse on + so then the fuse would blow before current can damage item
