Very common accident at Quarry. I've spent enough years being one of the few photographers stupid enough to stand at Avon Rise (pre catch fencing) to have caught some fairly bonkers things in terms of what is happening to cars as they lift and compress there before reaching Quarry, 1, 2 or even...
Plenty of interesting stuff out playing at Castle Combe yesterday...(the Clios are here.)
Many more here: http://chrisharrison.smugmug.com/Motorsport/CCSPCAD13
The event itself has been discussed elsewhere, so straight onto the pics!

MPB are great, spent about £5k with them over the years, they usually undersale their descriptions, I've had gear I swear could have been brand new from them. 6 month warranty as well so no issues there.
90% of my gear has been bought second-hand, great way of building a system imo.
Glad to hear you're ok Dan.
Ironically things seemed much better this year, even though it was much busier than previous years. Less idiots in cars that are barely roadworthy (Sierra and a few other excepted), and overall less incidents, just a shame they were biggies and will clearly get more...
Must be a sign of the times, ironic that during the times I had Clios I couldn't get on the stand, but now I have a Ford I was offered a spot! Overall the busiest Spring Action Day by far though, even had to queue to get in at 8:50! Japfest and Rallyday aside that never happens.
Good turnout of...

Wilkinsons are very reputable, you can also claim a free spare battery through Panasonic iirc. Massive choice of lenses if she ever wants to add to it.
Interesting, I would guess sample variation is significantly higher in the Sigma, so I will see how I get on.
I feel like I've finally grown up (at 31!), not so long ago I would be buying and selling like crazy, now I'm actually taking my time and deciding what's best.
Straight from Combe...

I'm undecided on that, I have the Sony 70-300mm f4-5.6 G SSM and it's so much nicer to use, it doesn't focus hunt nearly as much as the Sigma, it's silent (video with the Sig is hilariously noisy), probably quicker to AF, just fits in my Crumpler bag and it's far better put together. Obviously...
My first trip to Marwell for a few years, picked up a Sigma 100-300mm f4 last week so wanted to take it for a test drive. As my first heavy lens for several years it's hard to describe how much my left arm aches right now! Pleased with it though, gets another work out this weekend at Castle...
Handle it, handle it, handle it. They feel very different in your hands compared to Nikon, I personally can't stand the handling of Canon cameras (got nothing against them otherwise), even after 6 months of ownership I could never accept the button placement etc. It's a very personal thing so...
You can stand where you like (within reason) at a rally, and I know quite a few guys here attend them every now and again. Same with motocross or anything like that, more than close enough to take a hit.
Maybe don't bother day to day, but worth considering if you're attending a motorsport event...
Having attended a few rally events in my time, I can see how it's very very easy to damage the front element via flying stones etc. Even at Castle Combe I've only just avoided debris (from a flipping Formula Ford). Considering I had a £1500 lens that I could never afford to replace, it was a no...
RX100 seems to be the big thing at the moment (and they really don't hang around second-hand). I have a few Flickr contacts who use them, quite often hard to tell if the photo is from a DSLR or compact.
Are there any specific times CSers are out on track? I'm there all day so will make sure I'm out around the circuit with the camera if I know when you're out.
