My 182ff track car build (so far)

The Cup racers were close to 1000lb rears 👀

    Is this too far gone

Yeah 20 ton needed for these really unless they're not that old then they'll come out with a 10 ton. Even had some struggle at 20 ton!

    Monaco 172 Track Car

Shoot in RAW if you have access to photoshop. If you really get into it, you'll want to invest in decent lenses.

Track rod issue any help would be great

Yeah, the Renault ends are a bit pricey.

Track rod issue any help would be great

Not sure who makes the OEM ones. Could be TRW but I'm not sure. Renault ones are good for the price. It's all I use and they seem to last.

Track rod issue any help would be great

The OEM tie rods are about 320mm, if you wanted to use aftermarket parts.

    Braided brake lines

My ones were from when Mitch was running it. They came really quick 😂 This is someone else running it now apparently. Don't forget you'll still retain the flexi join with these...

    Braided brake lines

I have these but yet to fit. https://www.prolinebraidedlines.com/collections/rear-axle-lines/products/renault-clio-mk2-sport-172-182-rear-axle-lines The longest one is about 1350mm I'd say. That will be to the flexi join at the beam connection.

Track rod issue any help would be great

Get the rods from Renault and the Lemforder ends from Euro Car Parts.

Show me your stud and nut kits.

A finer thread will give you more surface area in thread grip, more threads per mm basically. Not really needed for this application.

Are you running Brembo's? Very possible if so.

High performance pads that still cope on the road.

I'm happy with the PBS pads in mine. You need front and rear ideally, to compliment each other. I'd like to try Winmax at some point though.

Show me your stud and nut kits.

That marking is weird! Almost like the ball joint or something is touching it and rubbing all the way around, but that can't be possible...

Show me your stud and nut kits.

100mm I'd say. They're usually measured off the full length. Well they are on Pure Motorsport anyway.

    Long term storage tips appreciated

You're essentially just bore washing the cylinders as there's no load on the engine.

    That's ok then.

    Is this too far gone

The ones I have came with a bigger chamfer on one side so that they sit right in on the shaft. Can see it sitting out a bit here.

Is that abs ring chamfered on both sides? If it's not, I have a feeling that might be on the wrong way round...

Lost 5th Gear. Gearbox shat itself?

Grabbing 5th after coming off a roundabout tells me otherwise 😂

Perfect time for a Quaife diff.

Lost 5th Gear. Gearbox shat itself?

Are they actually that weak then? That they can strip the teeth with a bit of spirited driving? That video buffered for me too, so I downloaded it and it was 200MB 😂 no wonder.

Lost 5th Gear. Gearbox shat itself?

Sounds like something constantly rattling inside the box to me. Can you grind the teeth off 5th?

Lost 5th Gear. Gearbox shat itself?

Doesn't sound good. Definitely a rebuild needed.

    Water temperature sensor location

Usually on the thermostat housing somewhere. I don't know exactly on your engine, but it would seem the best place to look.

Supertech are the popular choice. I didn't know Mahle or Corteco made them for the F4R...
