i don't work in an office and i don't have a PA? anyway, i don't go to bed until 1:30am normally so popping out to town (probably 300metres walk) at 12 is no big deal, its not like I'm driving 20 miles at 3am to get it, I'm normally up anyway and its local, just more convenient than screwing...

What about people who work all day and would miss the delivery and then have to wait until Monday, to be out at work again.....

It's free advertising for Microsoft with all the sites talking about it ;) wasnt exactly a launch worth worth congratulating either really was it, let's be honest. And the uk is likely to have the same issues unless it was a batch issue.

Of course it isnt right, sites have put that figure at around the 40-50% plus mark. although we can't really compare a doa figure to a lifetime figure. does anyone know of someone who hasn't had a broken xbox? (I don't because I had one myself, but I know of lots of people too) i still ill...

Definitely going to be more than the b****cks 0.4% quoted! but as said in the article we'll probably never know the true figure as Sony will be too embarrassed to release it. The February date for a replacement is a joke, but what do your spect sony to do, let people have consoles they can...

Pretty sure that be doing all this multitasking and viewing p**n while at the same time driving a car through a fence at 200mph, having multiple cores will help, the lower clock speed also keeps the heat and power requirements down.

I am not certain, but I personally believe they are using the new hp moonshot server chassis's to do both azure, and Xbox live (in separate dc's), which enables them to get 1800 servers per rack, which is what is needed when talking about the sort of numbers ms are, using conventional rack or...

It's a shame they haven't offered a download like sony did so that you could pre download it and just put it on a USB key.

I was having ms and hp training last week and we were being told about the servers used for azure and xbox live and where their datacenters were, interesting stuff. but 300,000 servers is designed to run live, for online gaming, which doesn't actually need that big a connection from each user...

Both consoles have a day one update though that has to be applied to the console to make anything work, this is because the consoles have been manufactured and shipped weeks to months ago, so that was pretty obvious that the code would have changed. the thing people hated about the ps3 updates...

Of course Sony are going to say it's within their expectations as they don't want the real figure out, most people cant even get hold of sony to report theirs faulty! id say a figure of 1-4% will come out as being more accurate. We'll see, nobody knows yet, everyone is guessing, and sony...

The sony forums? The thread was posted in here I believe, and that number was out days ago, yet every day there are more reports of dead consoles so it should really be on the rise, the expected failure rate quoted is not the actual failure rate........

Good luck with that, it's only a code I believe and about 90% of owners will already have it!

Why do people keep quoting this 0.4% failure rate, that isn't known yet! it's a guess or a prediction! only after about a week will a figure be known. how can a dead console with flashing blue lights only be a minor problem, and the majority of the people with issues have this problem. The...

No no no. hdmi port failure is not an easy fix if it's not a software error, but if it was software then it would be on all boxes, nor is damaged stock. If the hdmi was an easy fix then sony wouldn't be struggling to fix it. Also, the main report is that consoles are dead, doing nothing, or...

its amazing how big shopto have become really, they've done a really good job of becoming one of the big boys, even if their website does still look like a 13 yr old mashed it together in 5 mins.
