Dan you can wander nearly everywhere. Park in the red circle on this map. Its the visitors car park of Gloucester city Council and is free after 7pm. I have marked afew zones in green where I shot from but I know you'll find better ones!
Cheers dude. A graduated ND filter was used. Only a cokin p, none of the fancy Lee ones! I cannot recall whether it was a 0.3, 0.6 or 0.9 though :o I suspect a 0.3
I recently bought a Tamron 10-24
I know its not renowned for its extreme corner sharpness but because I'm OCD it matches my other two Tamrons the 17-50 2.8 and 7-300 USD :o
I won't recommend it unequivocally because it does have its limitations i.e needs to be used at F8 but for my landscape...
What aren't you happy about mate?
If I had to critique it I would say there are too many distractions in the photo to make the couple really standout. Having them against those upright railings on the right could have made a nice high contrast style shot.
Because its just down the road from me too ;)
To be honest I didn't get the best from my four hour session!! So yeah would be happy to do another night session there and I am sure we can attract a few others given its central location.
I'm not really sure such a 'silly' video proves anything. The video didn't cover areas such as dynamic range but if you want to look at the DXO figures the Nikon D800 doesn't demolish the 5D in all areas and whilst DXO figures are far from the be all and end all they should be given far more...
Why would you want a 7d though? Maybe of your a sports shooter? Yes it's built like a tank and has a geat af system, but then so does the a77. Sensor in the 7d can't compete with a £200 nex3 let alone the a77.
It's a huge upgrade from the a55, maybe not in noise levels alone but on everything else. A77 has won lots of awards. The sheer size put me off but it's very, very good.
Nicely done Phil
I am going to have to put my lack of skillz on the line and give motorsport togging a go. I fully appreciate its not easy, technically skillfull but I rarely see a difference between this years motorsports pics and last years. But as I said perhaps I should give it a go!!!
