So carried on with some investigation. I've swapped around the 2 external actuators. Will now keep driving until it faults again. If it does and it moves to a different position (135 to 246) happy days, it identifies it as one of them. If not I'll carry on down the tcu fix/replacement route.
TCU ordered, and have seen they offer the clutch packs for the Ford variant, wonder if they do a Clio specific one too. What funny is they look like the LUK clutches including the packaging, but you get it "unbranded". for a small fee they will box and brand them as whatever you want lol.
Battery replaced
battery current sensor replaced
Still no change.
Had a disconnect of some wiring looms and cleaned them off, could see anything wrong with a light browse. Kicked its head on for a while and just as I was heading home it went into limp mode again. The search continues but I'm...
Since the show (though I hoped it would be here before hand) I've added a new mascot, Its supposed to be a play on "Mr Horsepower" let me introduce you to Monsieur Cheval Vapeur

Well I made it back. Whole slew of new fault codes stored.
I've ordered the voltage regulator from rpd so that's the next thing in the parts cannon.
Output when loaded looks OK and sits at 14.4 with the lights on.
Cleared all the codes and went to drive it... got stuck in the middle of my...
So.... I've driven the car to London this morning 🤦🏻♂️ 3 times it did it, i think I've figured if you ask it to shift quickly it does it. But light throttle and slow changes it's seemingly OK.... It did also, on 5 occasions hit me with a quick flash of the stop for a charging issue.

Awesome @GtirHil do you remember or have a link for the capacitor you bought? I can find 2200uf axial capacitors just need to to know the peak voltage. But a link to the one you have would be great 👌🏻
I've been a big advocate of these clios and their gearboxs, how well i think they work when bimbling to work or going hard on track...
That was until this week. Had a dreaded check gearbox error twice one morning, with one of them requiring a restart to get out of limp mode. Id been expecting...
Had a lovely drive out to Goodwood this weekend for the Retro Rides Weekender. The car was displayed in the "French Connection" area along with some other lovely machinery. The show was great and defo one of the best in the year for me.
The car was nearly faultless on its 300mile round trip...
Popped to a car show over the weekend. Cracking run out in the R8. Good food and vibes for a more local show, in excess of 600 cars turned up.
Few of the 8 coming through which is cool.
