As above, unfortunatly you do have to take the 2 screws out and the 1 above the cluster, you will have to take the bumper off unless you can get the lower grill section off with it still on (not recommended!).
The car takes 3.1 litres of brake fluid but you will need a bit more to flush trhough the system, while its drained its worth sticking some braided lines in too. Did Renault carry out your MOT? Id be very suprised if the rears were actually 90% worn.
^The standard feeds go just behind the vent under the front N/S light. However it isnt a direct flow there is one or two plastic bits crossing the flows path but it still allows for some fresh air to reach the cafs.
Have a look on eBay for the piping.
Ive done it, its very easy, you need a small flat bladed screw driver to get the electrical clips out of the wiring block. The only problem I got was confusing pink with violet!
Your car will already have anti roll bars, its going to be hard to feel any difference in a 1.2, try stripping out the interior, put some decent brake pads/disks on and some good tyres, use 15" alloy wheels that are a good make and are light weight.
I agree that the whole caf needs to be wide from end to end. Ive just upgraded mine, quite simply the most simple effective mod ive done, you can see in the pic below how restrictive the standard feeds are. On the left are the standard feeds and on the right the 70mm piping thats replaced it...
I cannot see how you would get one off with a screwdriver? Halfords sell one for about £5 that you stick on a 1/2inch drive, wrap the chain around the filter turn the socket anti clockwise and the filter loosens off.
They are the same engine assuming they are both the 16v version, the look very alike. Do you know what year the megane was, They did the megane with the 1.4 8v before 2000 which is a completly different engine, although in theory should still fit.
megane:
Clio
Have you tried resetting the self adjuster first, un-hook the cable from the clutch arm, press the pedal to the floor, pull the cable as far as it will go the other end and put back on the clutch.
What problem are you having Tizer? I think ive got an issue with mine at the moment, there is a loud click from under the car when I turn the wheel whilst on the spot.
I think they are all the same part, if your buying from renault the come with the bushes already pressed in iirc, let me check tonight when I get my laptop back to campare part numbers.
Ive seen the ph2 wheel fitted to a ph1 but I think there are issues wiring the airbag, your best bet is to fit the full leather wheel from the RSI/172 exclusive.
Has anyone found out how much a new wheel costs from Renault?
