I know a lot of people hate kwik fit but they have a 25% offer off michelins at the mo, its worth doing a quote on there site and compare it to blackcircles.
The 1.4si is a good spec, the 1.9dtis are very rare but the same spec interior/equipment wise, they have the same van engine as the Renault traffic but are a little slower than the 1.4. They are very tunable though.
^The 172 doesnt have the wiring going across the guard it goes underneath. It would look better if you polish the top renaultsport logo back to silver. This is mine:
Lol, well its a good idea to replace the middle, if you just replace the one at the rear with a new (or stiff modified) mount the old one in the middle will be more worn and slack causing more stress on the exhausts weeksport. My bracket was coming loose so payed mr tyre £5 to put some extra...
Its a good idea, but on that exhaust the metal bracket around the box looks like its on the brink of snapping off, The renault mounts allow for lots of movement and an easy ride on the exhaust. Its also advisable to change the middle mount at the same time.
Rear bracket 7700424339 £17.35 plus...
Might be worth draining the coolant, put some radweld in the radiator, while its all out, take the pipes off and check for splits and check the metal retaining clips are all there and holding on tighly. Re-fill as normal and go for a test drive.
How much difference is there? The technical notes advise that the clutch pedal should be adjusted so its the same height as the brake pedal or near enough.
Not enough people mentioning the pros:
172mk1 registered (most of them) before mar2001 have a slightly lower tax band
Cable throttle which is more responsive
Lighter weight
Very slightly faster than 172mk2
Steering feels better, more feedback than 172mk2/182 could be down to smaller/lighter...
Its always advised with most cars if it track dayed/is frequently driven on dusty roads/driven in extreme cold weather/driven it salty air areas/has repeated short trips/used to tow, to half the the interval to 36k.
Can someone please make a decent quiet exhaust for the 172 as a direct replacement for the shitty over priced standard pig iron Renault one.
Has to be quiet like the standard Renault one
Has to be stainless steel
Has to be completly hidden
Has to bolt on from cat back using the existing mounts...
It doesnt mean Im 'lying' it just means that there is different sources of information that are conflicting out there. Edde has mentioned in his guide that it was added around 2003.
Its best to ask the seller if it has esp and look for the esp button, climate controls and cd changer.
