Bolting the exhaust up on the floor worked, seemed because the downpipe is literally touching the heatshield it was causing difficulties.

Knew my gearbox had an oil drip, but didn't know it has this hole in it. Guess somebody knocked that hole in to keep oil off the clutch, must be a leaky input seal :(
Downpipe on, need to bodge a mount out of something now. Wish I'd never started this job!

I wasn't sure the downpipe would fit through from above so didn't want to risk it. I will eventually get a catch can, but for now a new hose is better than the one I took off. I'm used to the heatwrap smoke, seen it before lol.
I don't know if I'll upgrade the turbo TBH.
You soon grasp it, it's only a few extra pipes and a bit of metal. This car is far better to work on than any FWD european car I've touched with spanners, just well thought out and a bit of extra space helps too.
Might as well have a bit of an update seeing as it's the weekend. Been steadily plodding along after work all week with this.
Found my breather hose to the turbo to be in bad shape due to being so close to the exhaust manifold, so had to get myself another one...

The normal Hi Power is pretty loud apparently. If it's no quieter I'll just flog it, like I said I wasn't too keen on a 5" tip, but didn't want any of the cheap monkey metal stainless the UK traders sell as their own branded exhausts.
Not according to the db list on SXOC. It f**king best be quieter than what I've got now, I've got a tiny rear silencer and that's it.
EDIT: SXOC states 92db with decat, that'll be quieter than what it is now.
That's what sets an HKS Hi Power Silent apart from a Hi Power, it's meant to be quieter. Which I need, sitting at motorway speeds is ridiculous for drone.
I had a Broom Yellow Cinq Sporting, was nothing special, pretty much standard bar painted alloys, alloy rad,yellow rear lights and mckrich chip. Lost all my images when my external HDD failed :(
Mikalors are probably better, but are too wide for the job really.

Thanks Jamie, I think I recognise you from my fiatforum days actually. I get a feeling the tip will be getting ground off one day for a smaller one.
Got it in a group buy from SRB, so was cheaper than it should of been. Still, it wasn't your £150 Japspeed/Apex Catback, but it'll out last the car. The only thing I don't like is the fact that for an SX it's a 5" Tip, whereas some others have smaller tips.
As winter is starting to close in, I'm in the very least aware I need to sort the exhaust out. So I got it all out to see how it sits.
