The screen for those seems hard to come by, only one I could find was over £60. If you're paying that you may as well pay the £90 and have someone do it for you. You may be able to get a cheaper one on ebay but they're usually not genuine and are shite.
You can buy the phone new / refurbed on...
My brother had this, was still in warranty so got it swapped. Some of the HTC's have a similar issue, if the battery drains fully it refuses to turn on. With the HTC holding a certain button combination forces a battery reset or something, or try it under a bright light, it has an effect due...
Nope not me. I'm not a blonde female and my car is far from tidy these days! I did see you though @Darren S on the m65 a couple of weeks ago. Wasn't in my car or I'd have flashed.
Not much help, but stick it on ebay or mazuma it if you can't fix. They still fetch over £100 broken, and will go towards a new one.
You could try taking it apart yourself using a guide on line, make sure its clean of salt and fully dry, but its doubtful.
Or as said claim on house insurance.
If you can get wireless from a decent provider it shouldn't be too bad. We had it at a couple of sites in the lakes and got a 40ms ping, good enough for gaming.
Pings on 4g wouldn't be great, and they're not stable enough for a 24/7 connection IMO.
I'd rather stick with the 1mb line than...
I guess all you can try (IMO) is to get the person who diagnosed it to write up a proper report (assuming he is a garage), then take the gearbox guy through the small claims court. It's going to be a tough one though.
Why does it need another new gearbox out of interest?
The standard google account backup doesn't do photos. You have to set that separately using the google plus or photo app I think. As said, best bet is to use the software on the PC.
Its a tricky one. As yes he could have dislodged / damaged something when fitting the box, or alternatively it just failed of its own accord. Best thing to do IMO would be to get it to someone independent who can identify the cause, then take it from there with whoever is found to be at fault...
No issues leaving PN myself last year, changed to sky as they were offering it free as a TV customer. Didn't even need to contact PN, ordered on line and sky changed everything over. This year I've changed back to PN as my free sky contract had expired, same experience there. Thought sky would...
Plusnet will be the cheapest. You can pay the line rental 12 months in advance and works out around £13.50 PM. I think you can drop the free weekend calls and make it even cheaper still if you wont be using it. You could when I ordered in March anyway.
What are you cleaning it with? Mines been fine after about 7 years, although I haven't cleaned it for a couple. They advertise they don't need cleaning which I think is BS, but every 6 months might be a bit excessive.
I think the edge looks nice, but I'm not sure if I'd use the additional part of the screen unless it makes normal day to day viewing better. I'd never put my phone face down so wouldn't be bothered about that colour thing they have when someone rings. Haven't seen one in the flesh yet though.
Can you change the dns settings on the home hub itself? Never looked at one so don't know if its locked down. It sounds like a BT issue though and they should fix it really.
Probably because the networks are on the same IP range. If you search for 192.168.1.10 for example at home, it'll be looking on your home network rather than work. Change your home to 192.168.2.x and try it then.
^Same here. I don't like how notifications are either on the lock screen or completely off. There are certain ones (like play store updates) I'm not arsed about seeing on the lock screen, but if you turn the notification off, it disappears from the notification bar also.
It may just be that its not showing up for whatever reason. As said higher up in the thread, try manually navigating to the linux box via run or similar: \\linuxcomputername\sharename
