Depends if your email provider supports it. You need to use IMAP instead of POP3. Then all the emails are stored on the server not downloaded to a phone/pc.
As said update the firmware and do a full reset. If that doesn't work go onto nokia's website and they list local shops that repair them under warranty, or you can post if off.

I got a 5800 on contract and kept the n96.
The touch screen is nice but the 5800 seemed more of a gimmick phone to me than the n96.
Use both for a week and see which you prefer.
With the n96 are you on firmware 30? Just updated mine and all seems fine, bar it now vibrates when it rings...
It will use different ports to connect, maybe they are blocked. Some hotel wi-fi require you to log in using a web browser before you can use it, obviously this isn't possible on the xbox.
Mine cracked and I got the garage to fix it whilst it was in being serviced. Can't remember what type of glue they used now but they tried 3 types before they found one that stuck. Its actually come open again slightly now, bendy plastic.
