It's meant to do that, yes, but EGP is not as good at repelling water in comparison to other sealants. That's why it leaves a trail. If you're fussed by it, try a coating of reload, c2v3 or hydr02.

So here's an update for you on the VERSOtility of this @Auto Finesse product... One dirty three year old iPad leather cover... Spritzed and agitated with a soft brush; Wiped down with a damp, clean MF and voila. Clean as a whistle!

Looks about right for those products. There are better out there, but for what you need they'll do perfectly.
