Thought now would be a good time to update this thread with the bean having an eventful couple of months...
So leading on from my other thread that got locked...

The good news with that one was that as soon as the insurance saw the cctv...
I'd email them before you take it apart. Their customer service is good. They sent me out some foam plugs for my speakers for free when I misplaced mine. Plus if under 6 years old the Sale of Goods Act is your friend!
You can just buy the lamps and use one of the remotes that come with them to control up to 8 irc. You don't need the bridge although you wont have that disco option (how often would you actually use it other than to show off a bit...!).
Not sure my 3 would look that good lol.
The remote is good, very easy to use. I can see it being more effort like using my phone to control my harmony...
OP's are around £90+ each
They've come down a lot in recent years. When I 1st got them mine were £160+ unless you grabbed some on black friday or something like I did...
Just looked and mine are still £130 on amazon:astonished:
Yeah brighter and I prefer the look without the band round them (although they still look very nice!) I've got 2 smoked ones and 1 clear.
Just looked into it and it seems as long as they have smart link they work which mine have :)
Yeah, I knew the ultimate can control the hue but didn't know that it transmitted RF. I stuck with mine as they're brighter 15 watt where as yours are 10 watt.
With mine been the older model they aren't advertised as working with the hue like yours but I bet they do now after this.
Might get...
Very interesting!
I've got 3 of the living colours gen 2's in my living room. Have them all linked to the one remote. I was hoping my new Harmony Ultimate might work them but the RF from it will only go to it's hub.
I take it your's use RF rather than wifi to control and therefore the Hue...
If a tv was considerably cheaper/better from somewhere that doesn't do 5 years then I wouldn't be bothered. If the same then I'd go for the 5 years.
When I got my tv done through S of G it took 1 email that was largely copy and paste from the web and the rest was sorted out just like any other...
Sarcasm:wink: lol
It actually works out really well as I'm off for 2 weeks from friday. Heading to Bath then the south coast for Christmas then Lancaster for New Year so get to actually enjoy the luxo barge rather than being stuck with it to do my 3 mile trip to work and back each day for 3-4...
