It's not for the sound, chap. It's for the flow. B5 TIPs with an open filter see a good 20hp over a "standard" mapped car (so 255-60 versus 275-80). With the larger intake, it makes a hell of a difference fella. The more the merrier on this as he won't listen to me :)
