I really really really do hate the design, but as above, fitting the shaft in first and making sure everything is clean and not stressed is the key.
I nearly stripped the threads on the gearbox the first time trying to tighten the plate without noticing it wasn't sat correctly! Idiot!

Basically, I went to fit them, but was greeted with fresh fluid covering the whole hub / wheel arch area, which then started a puddle on the floor from one of my H&R Coilovers.
Planned to strip it all down and send them off for refurbishment, but I've spent an absolute fortune on it this month...

If you get wipers themselves off (may take a bit of WD and a tool and persuasion) then get the plastics off, you'll see the whole linkage/motor etc is one unit held in by one bolt I think at the back of the scuttle theres a locating rubber bung dowel thing as mentioned above, check it's all sat...
