I know it's too late, but a compression check before would of been
Here's hoping you haven't killed it with a bad set up / fuel starvation or similar.
Find that oil leak as well.
I remember an old Megane that started to rattle / tick badly on start up, until you turned it off then started it again. Think they were using cheap oil.
UPDATE:
Spoke with a chap at J&R Tech Dept - Lee Jones
He told me that they currently do not have the Clio 172 Cup driveshafts on the website, but they are in stock. They don't offer an exchange service, as they are brand new outright and come with a two year warranty.
Part Numbers (172 CUP -...
Such an anti-climax mate :(
As you said, mad rush, this is bound to happen but its awesome it made it there and it drives etc.
Not liking the sound of smoke, rattling and bag of spanners sound though... Did you drive the Megane before this all happened? Or do you think it's more to do with it...
Good luck pal
Not to harsh on the gear changes, with a solid bar mount you don't want to be cracking anything. As for the linkage, things like that will happen with the huge changes that have been going on, not to mention its fitted to a completely different car etc.
Have fun ! :)
Heard about the captive nuts spinning before on the subframe, nightmare but I remember people overcoming it with limited access to the nuts
As for removing the subframe to change the pipe, must of been a different pipe to the one I changed then
Be good to hear others opinions but I personally found the misses old 197, Megane 225 and now her 175 with Cup pack (eibachs) felt more planted than mine due to the platform / suspension and hub design, bigger wider wheels etc.
However on the flipside mine has always felt more alive and driver...
Washer pump needs replacing. Its when the little solenoid thing inside goes. If you do your rear washer you'll notice the fronts come on too.
Is your rear washer working properly? If not, its probably blocked or the pipe crushed under the spoiler if you've had it off before, which subsequently...
Good effort pal, sounds like my last track day, ended up taking last minute days off and finished 11pm the night before and left at 5am the next morning!
I just seen the word urgent and assumed you needed it fixed today ha.
Maybe worth changing the ps sensor by the alternator pal. Mine started leaking through the top of the sensor not long after I put a new pipe on and into the wiring plug!
I would get the car up in the air and start removing...
I had the same problem a couple years back, and like your current situation, needed it fixed asap!
Mine rubbed on the join you mention and started weeping which got worse. My solution was:
Drain system
Cut the crimped leaking bit out
CLEAN metal section, and also sand it so it's nice and...
Isofix bar usually causes the issue I think, 17mm bolts so shouldn't think you will be rounding them!
The others from memory one is 17mm and one is a round torx head which doesnt need to undo much as the seat bracket just uses it as a locator. So as long as it does half a turn it should be all...
No luck with exchange shafts, only new they've said to me today, but this was my local one. Renault Wolverhampton maybe worth a go.
But the prices of these is difficult to ignore and I'd be happy even if they needed changing every MOT!
