Yep, as sleeperish as you like. I miss Norms, he was quality (apart from some of his outbursts!).

    Declaring Brake Pads

Out of interest Ollie (as my father is with them with several cars), what do you feel this affects? Granted my parents are a single case in tens of thousands no doubt, but with two accidents in their time with Admiral, they have been superb...? Not a gripe, just interested to hear your views.

Surely that must be a renewal, so how could they charge for a cancellation? Unless you missed the date and it rolled over...?

Well that was easy, Sky Insurance!

Thanks Ollie, picked up, looks like my initial email on Saturday went into spam. Which I fully understand as mentioned via PM. Issue closed - thanks to Ollie (and Connie) my opinion of Sky has been lifted out of the gutter.

There are only a handful of professionals that should know better that still do this. And don't too kindly to Kevin pointing this out, eh lad ;)

really high insurance prices, when kept securely...

Something to do with more damage getting it out of the security gates. It's the same as parking in a locked garage. Madness.

Lol Kev, not sure mate. Perhaps Germany!! As did I chap. I even asked about it before giving the go ahead and the bloke mentioned a charge of circa £15-25. I understand and appreciate there has to be an admin charge. The industry I'm in we'd also charge for cancellation. But the percentage...

Funny how your opinions of a company can change in 24hrs. £50 charge to cancel the policy (10 days before cover is due to start) due to unforeseen circumstances (potential move abroad). And 4-6 weeks for a refund. Shocking. But thanks to Connie for pushing the refund down to a week.

Agreeded. I won't even use them on the wheels or glass. Demoted to tyre and arch dryers.

Thanks Ollie. Funny old world, insurance. We've chatted a few times on here about the sky high (sorry) quotes from you guys due to SK9 postcode. This year, thought I'd try you guys again, give you the BOD and sure enough, a winner!

Not to argue with you, Davo, but there will be marring from using any drying implement. Even the very best towels leave marks however careful you are. Only touchless drying (0PPM water and a blower) leaves no marks.

Thanks to Sam @ Sky Insurance! Undercut all other more competitive quotes by at least £50 (Greenlight, Brentacre etc). £95 lower than last year's premium and £150 lower than my auto-renewal quote from Flux!

As you said, it's just surface rust i.e. iron/contaminants from the brake pads rusting on the surfaces of the hub/disc sides.

They are a pain. Mine are starting to go again - brand new discs and painted hubs in September last year. Less than six months!

    Help Please.

A detailing brush and some wheel cleaner works. Or strong dilution of APC. But you're going to have to touch it to get it off - spray on jetwash off products are unlikely to touch it. Most people have the same issue which is why they are repainted as part of some detailers' routines.

The 3M ones are very good, but a quick search hasn't thrown up a spot pad backing plate for some reason... basically, any one with a foam centre as this allows constant pressure/keeps the pad flat at different angles.

150 single pipes were the roadster, Ben. Single pipe coupe is 180. As stated, it'll be an upgrade from the 1.2 (i know, i did 1.2 16v to my 225 S3) but in that guise it does nothing for me. Do her a favour and clean it lad!

AF Hide - Leather Cleaner and Leather Conditioner

I too followed the instructions on the back of the Gliptone bottle of cleaner, a few years back when I first tackled leather seats. It says to run over the seats with a damp cloth. First try the seats were not damp enough to foam up the cleaner and it did bugger all. Second time around, I used a...

    Flunkey's

I can't see a lot about them, except on DW from 2006. I can't comment truly as have never used them, but they appear to be a chamois = scratchy scratchy. And as below, only one is needed to dab dry a car that is well protected. Scratches or swirls? Yarp.
