Sam, is that comment about the standard rear brace aimed at me?! the mounting places are 3mm steel and theres a plate on both sides of the shell. do you not think this is sufficient??
how do you figure the "more slowly" technically they slow you down faster as theyre deploying in the opersite...
I have a bolt in harness bar!!
im glad Sam said exactly what i was thinking. An inertia reel seatbelt is designed to hold you in place, not to "give you some room to move around" crashes happen in split seconds, nobody will sit there thinking
"Hmm im experiencing a car crash, and the roof is...
im saying if youre handy you could do it in an hour!!
if youre a moron with a torque wrench, then id set aside a day for it!!
either way as long as you have the sense to tighten bolts up FT (or a torque wrench) then it can be done with little or no mechanical experience!!
what a let down!! i was hoing he had made a kettle from his scrap clio!!
you dont need to read the article, just the subtitle covers everything really!!
both front wheels off
pinch bolt out (will be a bit of a mare)
Ball joint splitter inbetween the balljoint and hub
large hammer, a few swear words and about 1-100 minutes hammering depending on how much of a mare she is.
2 18mm nut/bolts connecting ball joint to wishbone
and theyre off...
exactly this, mk1 and mk2 engines will all fit into the mk2 bay but the track for the sorts is considerably wider due to larger wishbones/arb etc.
also the rear beam will need to be changed also as the 1*2s have a much stiffer antiroll bar welded through the middle than the non-sports (though...
im quite glad you said this tbh, every thread i read makes out that the belt can only be done by specialists or youll end up with 3bhp!! i always assumed that with all the correct tools and taking your time, then you will get it right!!
everyones fear attitude was putting me off doing mine...
Putting a Cat back in will give you less rasp and will mean MOT's are less of a worry,
might be costly to purchase a cat but you will have some value in the selling of the decat.
centre silencer will quiet it down more as thats their main function.
personally i plan to go with 2 silencers and...
Does anyone know if the aux pulley on the crank from an F7R will fit on an F4R engine??
they seem the same fitament and offset but wanted some advice from someone who knew a lot about both engines?!
the F7 pulley is quite a bit smaller and less bulky and therefore may be a lightweight...
haha chris wouldnt stop going on about this car tonight, kinda jelous though.
and it true chris style he does ask around since i have an A/C pump doing nothing in the garage!! lol
keep up the good work guys!!
i like the wheels and the stance is ok!!
but its let down by the chav mods imo,
black lights, angel eyes, jap style plate, not for me thanks!!
if it had a decent paint job and a valver front end on it, it could look pretty epic tbh!
right, the 280mm callipers DO NOT fit straight onto non-sport hubs.... sorry but the bolt spacing is slightly different!! whats worst is you cant just change to sport hubs, becuase they wont fit non-sport shafts (unless you get the right centre pushed in, that might work!!)
The easiest and best...
this is so true, in some of the pics i think it looks cool,
but then a regular phone pic pops up and ohhh :/
but technically should pass an MOT, i did a bit of stance work on my old 1.2 (though not as extreme) and all they said at the MOT was did i know that i had fitted the wrong width tyres...
