Personally I think the levels of safety in motorsport are adequate. In some cases they are too stringent for club level competitors, leading to un-necessary expense for people who compete on an infrequent basis. Seat and harness dating being a case in point.

Two dates for Tregrehan Hillclimb, first one is SUNDAY 12th JUNE, second one is SUNDAY 3rd JULY. I will be competing at both, love to see any Cliosport members, come and say Hi to me in the paddock. Up for a trackday, or any beach meet, got a new dent to show off!!!

No, sender is knackered, not replaced it yet! :D If you're looking for top speed, I was just touching 7000 in 3rd before braking for the 90 left, so around 90ish.

A short vid of my fastest timed run (45.22) at Plymouth Motor Club's Werrington Park Speed Hillclimb, 1st May 2011. Not a particularly tidy effort, I must stop playing rally drivers and flinging the car around when it bets unstuck! Enjoy.

I've got 134,600 on my 172 Phase 1. It's had a damn hard life, used every day, and for: road rallying, sprints, hillclimbs, autotests and track days. Still going strong! Out this weekend at Plymouth Motor CLub's Werrington Park Hillclimb. Great little car!

I'll certainly give you a spin in my 172 if you want, if that's any good?

I'm from Cornwall, but this was the South Hams MC Nightmare rally, based in Kingsbridge.

Re: help! coilovers are on but uncomfy as a f**ker If you have them too low then the suspension will be bottoming out on the bump stops, which will cause all the crashing and banging! Lift it up !

Apologies for not making it, I competed on the South Hams MC Nightmare Rally on Saturday night, and had intended to stay on in the area, but tiredness got the better of me and I went home to bed! Car looked impressively dirty with good red Devon mud on Sunday morning though:D

Can show off my new dent after last night's rally! :o

I'll be there if the car survives the next two rallies. :)

I see Renault are using the Va Va Voom tagline again in the TV adverts. In my case its more likke Va Va ......... Oh s**t!:clown:

172 phase 1

Clios have hardly any brake pressure at the back, along with most light hatchbacks. The ratio of front to rear brakes as standard is aound 90%/10%. If it stops ok in a straight line when you are on the road, there is nothing wrong.

You could spend a fortune trying to guess what is wrong with it and trying new parts. Take it to someone who knows what they are doing, and get the fault properly diagnosed. Lots of good Renault Specialist garages on here.
