Re: Bren's Sunflower 172
Couple of purchases this weekend. Managed to find an engine, so went to pick that up off Bomber with f0xy yesterday. Ordering new bearings, rings, seals, gaskets, head bolts, cambelt and aux belt kit etc etc next week. Engine will be getting stripped down and off for...
Re: Bren's Sunflower 172
yeah, have to press the bottom on mine before the ignition comes on - every time I get in the car I think "please start, please start, please start"
Re: Bren's Sunflower 172
1 key is annoying. plus it only unlocks using the clifford fob, yet the key doesn't work in the door... so if the battery in the fob dies, then I can't get in the car, or start it haha. Has randomly not started on one occasion thanks to it.
Re: Bren's Sunflower 172
I started a thread earlier asking what was needed. Basically Locks, ignition barrel, UCH, ECU, and keys. Getting everything off a donor car as the ECU has to match the UCH (multi timer unit for ph1). It shouldn't be too much of a ball ache to swap everything over, but...
Re: Bren's Sunflower 172
Well, managed to find an engine which I'll be going to pick up next weekend. Also getting everything I need to replace the locks and immobiliser on the car as it has a clifford aftermarket system which is really dodgy, and there is only one key. (for those of you that...
Cheers for all the replies guys, I was told there was a UCH on the ph1 so thanks for cleaning that up. I'm picking up everything I need next week of a donor car so hopefully all will go well. I'll be glad to be rid of this dodgy aftermarket alarm/imobiliser
Need to swap the locks, ignition barrel and UCH on my ph1, and I'm not sure if I need the matching ECU (from the donor car) as well. Should be any easy one for someone on here, but I'm terrible with electrics.
Cheers guys.
Re: Bren's Sunflower 172
Exactly, Should be fun AND reliable this summer.
Yeah That was the first time I'd washed it in about 2 months... maybe more. Covered up the awesome colour.
Re: Bren's Sunflower 172
haha don't worry you're not the first to ask. I'd take the opportunity if I could. A couple of months ago I might have considered it, but I really have fallen in love with it these past few weeks.
Re: Bren's Sunflower 172
Yeah, lasted a few months haha... not had the best of luck really.
Cheers man.
Went year before last, may be tempted to go. We'll just have to see.
Re: Bren's Sunflower 172
A little gutting yeah, more annoyed at the fact I have to get the peasant wagon to work for a few weeks at least. It is an awesome colour though, much better in summer when it really really bright!
Re: Bren's Sunflower 172
Yep.. likely. To be honest, I was expecting it to go before that. It's done about 5k since that happened though. Was completely out of the blue too, just glad it was around the corner form my house it decided to go. Will have a bit of a think, but will certainly be...
Re: Bren's Sunflower 172
bugger me... well I've never had any problems on all my other cars.
Well, I had an interesting weekend. ICV has gone mental, so car keeps cutting out as it won't hold revs which was/is really really frustrating. Fitted N/S driveshaft last night with thanks to a...
