Basically, my passenger window isn't working (ph1 172). I've just tested another regulator, but no joy. When I press the button on both doors, there is no click from the relay. Anyone know which relay it could be?
A diagram would be a big help.
Exactly that. Everyone seems to do it differently, but went with advice from someone I trust.
I spoke to Marting at Agency Transmissions yesterday after he stripped the gearbox down. Really top guy. Initially he asked whether the car was a track car as the gearbox had been apart previously. I...
More than the value of the car just having the engine and gearbox rebuilt... + waterpump, belts, looms, exhaust, locks, ECUs, driveshafts, coilovers, hub, discs, pads, 4 PE2s, ABS sensor, wheel bearings, filters and fluids
Don't dare add it up.
Quick update on this..
Without the time/means/skill to actually remove the gearbox on my own, I decided to send the car to Birchdown. Not cheap, but at least I know it'll be done right and their service and communication has been great so far. I arranged recovery of the car and Birchdown...
That is a crazy connection, but yes, it is Hayley's old car. My mate knew her when she had it (small world).
There is a chance it'll be up for sale before the end of the year, just had the engine rebuilt, and the gearbox is at Agency Transmissions being rebuilt as I type.
Hey,
I think I need a new N/S driveshaft for the ph1. I'm sick of being messed about with driveshafts that are sold as 'mint' but are in fact wrecked. Just sifting Ebay at the moment and came across this...
Definitely bottom end (bearing) failure. Sounds exactly like mine did last year. Unless you know someone who can rebuild it for you, I'd suggest breaking the car and moving on. I've spent a small fortune getting mine back on the road only for the gearbox to go only a few months later...
sorry for the thread hijack, I'm hoping to have my gearbox rebuilt by agency transmissions too, however I tried calling them twice today but only reached their voicemail. Just wondered if they are generally quite tough to get hold of, and how quick they are to turnaround a gearbox? I've read...
Sorry to resurect this old thread, but did you get round to upgrading? I've just fitted a cheap aftermarket headunit but I just want some better quality sound. I listen to a lot of music (not bassy/sick tunezz), and I'd just like something with a bit more depth. What would I need for quick cheap...
Well, the sunflower has been going well for a while, so booked the ferry to bring the car over to Ireland for a while. Hopefully the weather hangs around for that later in August.
Interesting turn of events the other night too, picked up a CD player from Jonff, and on the way home I heard a...
Minus labour and the fact I bought half the stuff over a year ago.. it was roughly £50-75 for machining work. Bearings, cam seals, valve seals, piston rings and gaskets came to around £150-£170 iirc, cambelt kit was around £75 I think.
Don't hold me to that though, as it was funking ages ago. I...
Just spotted this, that's me. It's been off the road for a good while and has just had the engine rebuilt. Doesn't have a cup spoiler, but wouldn't mind one. glad you like it anyway, it's a fun car.
Yeah that's Jamie's new car. He's still got the XR2 which he's now considering breaking.
Yeah very happy. Still not perfect due to needing a new N/S hub (on it's way) and possibly ANOTHER driveshaft. I'm just going to enjoy it though, it's such a fun car.
It's easy to forget just how loud...
Hardly my efforts really, f0xy put in all the hard work as most of the electrical stuff just baffles me and he knows his way round thse like the back of his hand.
So went for some photos with a friend of mine who just picked up a DC2 - a car I've lusted over for a while. Forgive me if these photos aren't semi-pro quality which most people have become accustomed to..
