I would agree. Pearce; by buying separately you will do yourself out of a few quid. The Sonus pads are very good for new users to machines. They are hard wearing and have a good range of cuts, from harsh to finishing.

Careful with the APC chap, remember that is likely to strip some of the LSP. Great for a foam pre detail, but as an ongoing pre wash, I would stick with just the MHW.
The liquid is actually called Snow Foam. But you can use All Purpose Cleaners, shampoos and other products in them, dependant on what you require.
The thing to look out for is a pH neutral shampoo or Snow Foam. I tend to use Megs Hyper Wash as it produces a decent foam and has a good cleaning...

The reason people are taking the piss is the simple fact that coating your brake discs in a product will render them useless. hence it looks like a pretty stupid question.
