Sorry i dont really get you. Her insurance wont cover me 3rd party but i said i can add her car to my policy.
The point of this thread is to find out if i can get away with insuring it without her having to cancel her policy and incurring the fees / ballache. I know i can insure it, just not...
My MR2 is going to the body shop for a few weeks and while its gone my mum has said I can use her old merc.
She has the merc insured but her insurance company wont cover me as I’m under 25.

I wouldn't say its like engine oil as its not in an engine. Its only going to be bits of gearbox in there not contaminants from the combustion process, petrol etc.
Only thing really would be to check the gasket, but it should be OK really.
If your car is due new spark plugs any time soon it would be a good idea to change them while swapping the manifolds over.
Watch you don't drop anything down the inlet while the manifold is off

I'd be having a good look at your rear beam / rear shocks in that case. They are around 10mm higher at the rear as standard IIRC
(assuming yours is standard?)
Mini Cooper S - 4/10 - Gay, expensive, slow, poorly equipped, bumpy and s**t on fuel. Any bloke that buys one wants his balls re-attaching.
On the plus side its OK to drive and sounds quite nice.
