    Is this 182 worth 2750?

I agree with you davo but a ropy ph2 172 can be had for well under a grand so I don't see a mint one being worth 5x this.

    Is this 182 worth 2750?

Well they are £2k new including the frames so aren't worth that now are they? it's still 8 years old done 72k and isn't a limited edition or anything. My mate bought a mk2 golf GTI with a vr6 engine in it that had over £15k spent on it and is in concours condition. The wheels cost over £500...

    Crank pulley failure !

Especially on the HDI's. They normally make a racket before they go but if they do go they can take out the cambelt too.

    Is this 182 worth 2750?

Yep still think £5k is insane, It's worth what someone will pay for it though and I'm sure Steve knows better than I do.

    Is this 182 worth 2750?

£4995 is insane money for 172.

    195/45/16 instead of 205/45/16

Price. 195's will be a lot cheaper.

clio 182 "1495 ono" cant be real 29k miles ??

Be a trick someone has played on their mate, we did this to one of mine when i was in college the amount of calls he had was unreal.

what colour is this? does a lack of history put you off?

Personally I cant see why you would spend £2500 on 172 with no history.

New Owner maybe , hello and info needed.

what colour is this? does a lack of history put you off?

Thats fair enough, just from you're previous post i assumed you tried to buy it after the general concencous was it was a bad idea thus defeating the object of you asking for advice in the first place. Condition is always the most important thing but for the money it would cost you could find a...

what colour is this? does a lack of history put you off?

People like you get on my tits - why bother asking questions like "would lack of service history put you off?" if you're going to buy it anyway? Save yourself a load of money and effort in the long run and fork out another £500 for a decent one with history.
  14. bennno2005

Help and advice needed on a 172 i am contemplating buying

Looks OK. I'd want to know a bit more about the history and who did the cambelt change though.
  15. bennno2005

get a load of this thing, he paid 12k for,

Me neither mate. Inferno is a lovely colour IMO.
  16. bennno2005

what colour is this? does a lack of history put you off?

Wouldnt touch one without history with a s**tty stick. It is a nice looking car but you've now idea how its been treated. All well and good changing the belts to be on the safe side but you'll probably f**k up if you do yourself so that's gonna cost you £600. Even then you might find that...

    My Focus RS mk1

I think the new RS is just about the only new hot hatch I'd actually like to own.

    My Focus RS mk1

Have you ever seen the inside of a MK1 RS? I could call it many things but classy isnt one of them!

    My Focus RS mk1

It really is a shame these look so horrific inside. Looks a nice example though!

My new Saxo VTS: Two Tone content.

GTI 6 brakes might be a good idea? You can pick them up cheap as chips. With OE discs and pads and fresh fluid they were brilliant on my 6 so on a 106 / saxo I imagine they would be awesome.

phase 1 172?'s thanks for looking!!

IF I ever get another 1*2 it'll be a non silver phase 1. I cant see any of the 1*2's going up in value. Maybe in 10 / 15 years time people will fork out £5k or so for a mint trophy (like with the Williams now) but I reckon the majority will just hit the £1k mark and stay there.
  23. bennno2005

So hard to find a car!

1.1 106's do go very well for what they are.

Cat C write off - VIC Check? Help!

Do they actually have to scan the green slip? If not i'm guessing thats how they've taxed it.
  25. bennno2005

    Does anyone know this car?

Yours was only 58K with 2 previous owners? All the ones I've seen for less than £2500 are either high mileage, need a cam belt or need paintwork and thats just the faults that are mentioned in the adverts.

Worst car trends/mods of recent times..

I don't do it but I really don't see why people don't like it. They aren't blinding at all.
  27. bennno2005

Worst car trends/mods of recent times..

Tow rings/ straps. Look s**t and are pretty pointless on a road car.
  28. bennno2005

    Does anyone know this car?

Yeah as I said you won't get a tidy 182 for £2500 you'll be getting a shitter. I'd rather have a cat d like that (asuming its been well repaired) for £2300 than some of the other tripe availiable for the same money. Apparently noone else on here would though.
  29. bennno2005

    Does anyone know this car?

Yes as budgie says you could get a really s**t high mileage 182 that probably needs its cambelt doing for that!
