Well considering you have only been building yours for 6 months, I think you win hands down - Is yours only for track days? or you gonna use it on the road too??
Cheers!... I wanna get it on the road by the back end of this month!... (fingers crossed)
Ive got another set of rear arches in the garage and Ive just bought some wheel spacers and longer studs for the rears so I could make a start - just want to get the rest of the car finished first! :-)
Got the Harness bar back from powder coating.
Made a shelf to level out back seat area so it could be carpeted
Carpeted the parcel shelf and seats, then finished of with some beading.
Then put the harness bar on and painted the inner tubs.
Finally got the air filter fitted too...
Ooooof - I wouldn't like to think how much I have put into this !! It was only supposed to be a matter of throwing a VTEC motor in a mini!... 6 years later.... Ooooof
Finally got round to making the harness bar yesterday. Just need to get it powder coated..
Interior is nearly finished now, just need to sort a few little jobs out.
Cheers

They are the side lights, the units have an additional bulb that illuminates the outer ring. The bulbs have various coloured covers but ill remove so they are just normal white, was just seeing what they were like!..
Well only just managed to get back in the garage after the festive period.
Unfortunatly a pipe burst in the old mans garage and flooded the mini interior so it all had to come out!. :-(
Gave me a chance to get in the back of the car and figure out how I was going to fastern my harnesses...

This is the final layout I decided on.
All the holes cut out...
Test fit of guages.. not 100% happy as you may notice the larger gap between the tacho and speedo.
The light cluster doesnt stand out as much as I'd hoped...
Looking good matey... Is that an acewell dash?...
Take it you've gone for the extra wide miglias?.. I originally bought a set of these but they were horrendous quality..
Where are you sending you dashboard off to get flocked??..
I aint touched mine for ages... :-(
Naa dont work there! LOL - just a bit of a shop mate....
My car is a bit of a mess to be honest - 7 years of abuse - think its ready to die!!...
Yours looks like a nice example mind!...
Ha ha ha - Id only planned to be building my car for 2 years... 5 years later Im still not finished..
Must admit, looks like a bl00dy good car ya got there to put ya VTEC in!...
You might get away without chopping more out of the bulkhead - the original Honda inlet is quite a hefty...
Mmmm interesting.. only cos Im building one with a Teg motor. How can this be proven? from what I have read there isnt really a great deal of difference.. maybe a bit more understeer?...
I must admit I have seen a few A series hill climbers with simliar power to ya mates but with serious...
Ha ha ha!!... these are on my shopping list too!!.. have you heard your motor running yet?
How much did you pay for your damaged mini??.. would I be correct in assuming you are just re-shelling it?.. or are you going all out and doing a full re-build??..
Chris

Thanks again for all the positive comments... :-)
With regard to the ECU and loom, we used all the existing mini side for all lights, ignition (barrel to starter) etc. We then used the honda engine loom for the engine. It all depends what ECU you get with your engine as the one we got had a...
Thought I better keep you informed. Not been working on this as much as I'd have liked so progress has been slow. Spent some time beefing up the front coilover mounts as they were puny and never really designed to take the added weight of the motor, a lot more confident the mounts wont sheer off...
