They will not fix it, its a waste of time taking to a dealer that is just going to thrash your car and give it back to you with the fault unresolved (and perhaps more problems). Best thing to do is to enjoy the car and put it out of your head.
Is this the fix that lasts 5 minutes and then its back again.
On the renault sport website they have a video clip of a cup pulling away with wheelspin and no banging. Its bl**dy annoying we cant get this soughted.
Yeah I think its a good idea.
The cup is the best car in the world problably.
Wouldnt mind some kind of how to guides on changing front/rear brake pads that arent in french. Plus recommendations on tools to buy for changing pads/ecu.
Already posted my reference number. Maybe that is a start, if everyone rings and gets a ref no which is posted on here. Also giving the same description of the fault that the engine bangs against the subframe and sometimes pulls the car out of gear.
Maybe we could send one letter with everyones name/reg number to the head of renault uk. I am thinking that most people think they are such a fantastic cars that they arent worried about the banging enough to send a letter.
So can everyone copy and paste the letter from above to their WP and send it to renault uk. Does anyone know renault uks address so that can be pasted at the top of the letter. We need to do this quick, ill print mine out at the weekend and send it monday morning on the way to work.
Then we need to say that we will not accept dealers taking to car for inspection and that they should provide proof to us that a solution has been found which doesnt involve chopping the car up and voiding the warranty. Also could tell them to ring rsport because they were the ones that told me...
I am useless at writing letters. But keep it very simple otherwise the idiots wont read it.
Everyone could just paste the letter we devise here into their word processors and put in their car registration/name/address etc.
Maybe something like-
Renault UK
Dear sirs,
Re - Fault with...
All of us with the rsport need to know how to swap our ecus around in the event of our cars needing engine warranty work. SOmeone from the group sent me the instructions below to do it.
"Its a bit of a fiddler to take out "on the road" as it were. Youll need some sort of socket set and i...
Under hard acceleration when you get wheel spin, your engine bangs against your subframe making a juddering/banging noise. Everyone thats been in my car and experienced it has said "your car is f*cked/you better get that seen to/its not supposed to be like that/my williams doesnt do that/my 10...
My reference number -

Told them renault solihull have a fix for it and the place i took it said the problem was in my head, they said that all the garages look at the same information so she didnt know why one garage could fix it and the other couldnt.
Is it that simple. What about the fronts are they easy to change? Is there a guide somewhere on the site that explains it using photos?
Dont renault charge an arm n leg to change pads - why?
I have become addicted to the higher rev limit. The needle seems to jump to the redline in a flash.
I know the chip is a bugger to take out is well. Good points bad points i suppose.
Am i going to blow my engine up eventually? How strong is this engine?
That is strange because when i rang customer services they told me that they never heard of this fault before. Good idea to collect the reference numbers, will get mine tommorrow.
This is starting to get out of control. When you ring up a renault dealer they play dumb and tell you to bring it in (no doubt its a good money maker).
Yeah they are charging £20 to put the rears on the front/ and fronts on the rear. Dont have a spare in the cup so not sure i can do it myself.
Thought about doing this because going to buy 4 new goodyears when the contis go, and thus get more life out of the contis beforehand.
Well the new ecu has improved my car so I dont really want to take it off. All i want to know is what tools I need to keep in the car, so that if it does break down i can swap over quickly. Also where exactly is the ecu and is it hard to swap them around.
So assuming the rsport ecu invalidates the engine warranty when would be the appropiate time to change back the the normal ecu. Is it the case that anytime the car goes in for work the ecu is checked?
Also can someone direct me to the post that describes how to change the ecu over and what...
So then what about the letter should we start another thread to write it. Then everyone copies/pastes it into their word processor (changing the relevent details like reg number and name/address etc) and sends it to renault uk.
If everyone called customer service and said the same thing (that the engine is banging against the subframe under hard acceleration and the dealers wont fix it) thats got to achieve something.
