Im only guessing at the air lock, I can't rule it out until i replace the pipe, haven't a clue what the last owner had tried but bleeding wasn't one of them as its snapped lol.
Just weird how it sits so high but the car is loosing no water and runs as smooth as.
Just means another weekend...
problem you will have will be mounts, the holes wont line up, seats maybe to low/high...
there is a couple of interiors on ebay or search for 'clio breaking'
wasted expense personally, a tooth out would make a noticeable difference to the running of the car.... if using renault they will use the correct locking tool which some local mechanics fail to use.
Sorry Ditz, Its a Clio mk2 ph1 1.4RT.
Its definatly 3 wire's to the one sensor, the manual image shows the same sensor but only two wires.... and the electrical diagram is misleading..as that only shows 2 wires, very confusing!! Once i get the replacement pipe i'll pull it all apart.
Just...
Same as me mate, I have an R26 which i pay £1200 fully comp and a W'reg Vectra 2.5V6 as a work horse and pay £116 less fully comp.....when i asked why considering the vectra i only paid £1400 for they replied with - we have statistics for the vectra i.e claims for number stolen, crashed bla bla...
Well finally got sometime today to strip the termostat out and replace along with temp sensor (car runs 3/4 on temp gauge with fan rigged up to temp switch!!) so thought i would replace those bits and flush with new coolant....
Luckly I didn't just go ahead and pull the pipe of the...
There should be a minimal amount of movement as radiators normally sit in rubber gromits.
10mm does sound a bit excessive, but it should move..... if it was mounted solid it would crack the mounts due to the movement of the engine and water pipes (i.e. same basis as an exhaust rubber)
Could be the steering rack, damaged teeth in the rack could cause what you suggest, I would also check for movement in the driveshafts, as they could be moving in and out of the hub slighlty on turn.... although this tends to make an awful noise. I lowered a car too low which made the...
I've never driven a 197, but if you feel something isn't right take it in, I've had my fair share of niggly issues and have all been sorted under warraty with a smile, even when car went in for service they noted the front discs had stress cracks in them (car had done 12k by now) Renault didn't...
I wouldn't either, Im forever topping up cars fluid levels (My last two company cars where brand new golfs which i did near 100k in each) as they where good old company cars I only ever used water to top them up lol..... 100k later all run sweet. :clown:
Top it up and keep an eye on it, you will find it will fluctuate (sp?) between min and max normally as the water circulates the engine, but should never go below min.
thats the expansion tank, so a mixture of water and antifreeze.... why do you ask as i would be quite worried if that was empty which it looks to be below the min mark.
Lovely example, I suppose your trying to sell to a small customer base as no one will spend the asking price and use it as a daily runner, so it drops into the 'specialist' area, someone that loves mk1 clio williams and will want to continue keeping it in that condition.... the clucth is a big...
lazy boys that stay in front ;) but your right different strokes and all that, when the r26 went in for service ended up being in for 4days, borrowed my mates CTR and well yeah it returned 30mpg but hated the fact you had to sit up in the 6k plus world before it got interesting.
R26 all day long :) all about the turbo..... makes the power very usable and on tap all the time, but then i have never been a 'drop it down two cogs to get it going' kinda person.
If you have enough room and depending how wide it actually is, rather than drilling out i would get some thin pliers, and drill 2 small holes a good couple of mm apart, insert pliers, grip and twist like a key.
Failing that its a drill out job :(
ps less with the making me feel even older..... lol Im out this weekend with a large group of 24 year old ladies, Im concerned i won't keep up!! HA HA yeah right haha
Yeah simple engine compared to some i've worked on, I was going to do the coolant as good measure with the oil, filter and so on.
I wasn't to concerned when i picked it up (last week), it ran, did 70 all the way home without a hicup, obviously down the motorway it stayed steady. It was my...
no no keep with the immature, makes me feel young!! haha not liking the fact i hit 28 this year at all!
I've seen a 182 dash and the temp gauge is in the middle? my misses is to the right of the dash and is much larger - I know its too high thats why i originally questioned it, but have rigged...
Apology accepted, Im not new to the forum by any means, Im new at posting but have been hidden away watching for sometime, My question before posting was 'searched' and was a failed attempt hence the post. But no worries I've kinda picked up on the daily taunt of questions.
Hit the nail on the head with this forum haha, matt thought he would make a comedian attemp on my post... shame he was way off.
As for heat soak and ambient air temp being high in engine bay, other than direct cold feed really not much more you can do.
Rigging the fan to a switch will pull...
