    mk2 ph1 > ph2 rep

not much effort, mates a pro sprayer, already have equipment myself. So cost of parts is all im looking at, if im picking up slightly damaged even better, cost wise would be very minimal hence doing it.

    mk2 ph1 > ph2 rep

Well misses gave me the orders... she wants it too look like a ph2! anyway ebay bargain just got a Trophy rear bumper for £16, will need painting anyway but has two scratches - will have the exhaust cut outs plastic welded up and blended. So do i hang out for a 172/182 front end or...

    Clio MK2 - running on 3 cylinders?!?!?!?!?

that seems a bit of an excessive report, I only say this as in the month my misses has owned one we have had about 3 seperate issues lol one of them being when you start it would run on two cylinders only... I have read many times the TDC sensor being at fault, which maybe relevant. When did...

    99' 1.4RN Exhaust:

Can someone tell me if the mk2 ph1 exhausts are the same for the 1.2/1.4/1.6? Im guessing they arn't? The misses currently has a twin Scorpion S/S back box on and although it looks ok (looks brand new) she isn't one for noise lol its not overly noisy she just doesn't like it.... So another...

    Clio MK2 - running on 3 cylinders?!?!?!?!?

Had this problem twice on the misses car, we put it down to the coil pack as you could disconnect one of the coil packs completely (1.4RN has two coil packs) and it ran the same (rough) so swapped the coil packs around expecting the problem to move with the coil pack and onto the other two...

Can anyone explain this - strange readings

I fill the megane up with whatever is closest to hand, the magane does a steady 25-26 with my driving, and tend to use 95ron, even on expensive stuff the increase in *performance* is very minimal if not the same - but then driving around milton keynes is all about getting round the roundabouts...

    Another new angle

I think people are focusing to hard on the gloves and missing the point you eat your steering wheel!! haha (just messing) word of warning though, be very careful where you mount that (if on view) a fair few of us went on a nice run (12 motorbikes) with Tank mounts and cameras, we got pulled and...

My dealings with Danlp6 (lengthy post)

Thats understandable, but i suppose its better to be safe than sorry, could you afford another repair bill? maybe bide ur time dumping it in the car and get someone to investigate :S can see a follow up post that its all gone horribly wrong.

My dealings with Danlp6 (lengthy post)

Nice 'mate' - problem is do you 'trust' what he's done, bolt it all down spin the key and watch a piston drop, or do you spend out on new gaskets and drop the sump and head off before it goes in.... I would spend that little extra from what you have said :(

    Bloody Temp Gauge:

The clio is a mk2 ph1 1.4 RN. The thermostat i paid £6 from halfords, they order from CAS and the nice chap at halfords didn't have one in and said he needed to order it, although told me the price and that they order CAS which is round the corner, took a trip round and he told me £15!! yeah...

    Bloody Temp Gauge:

    motorcycle exhaust on a clio?

Very noisy.... like farting down a drain pipe. ;)

    Bloody Temp Gauge:

going to replace this tomorrow and see what happens to the gauge, if that fails its the wiring somewhere at fault.
  16. M

    Bloody Temp Gauge:

Will double check tomorrow but we did look for one, the only wires that go to the rad go direct to the fan motor, no other switch on the rad anywhere. :S
  17. M

    Bloody Temp Gauge:

I bridged the fan by wiring a switch between the two wires that go to the fan, that did nothing so i then wired one direct to the battery plus, and earthed the other and the fan span up no problem - so as it stands I have a direct +12v to the fan via a switch on the dash (only downside is if i...

    Bloody Temp Gauge:

I can only get it to fall if i put the internal heater on full wack, it will drop just below the 3/4 as soon as i turn fan off it moves back up.
  19. M

    Bloody Temp Gauge:

This is it, the fan has never cut in.... If i just leave the car running the temp gauge sits as high as it can go, no fan no nothing.... Ihave bypassed the the fan and it all works fine but not once has it cut in when the temp hits top. One thing that hasn't come on though is the temp warning...

    Radio Issue

no as the perm +12v will still be connected to the radio for memory, but the switched +12v to turn on and off with ignition.
  21. M

    Radio Issue

Sounds like it has a perm +12v and not a switched +12v from the ignition, you normally have both behind the radio (from memory red is perm +12v and yellow is switched +12v) you would need to meter these out to check, then just swap them round - so power is supplied when ignition is switched on.
  22. M

    Bloody Temp Gauge:

Clio has now had a new thermostat, engine coolant flush and it still sits at over 3/4's on the temp gauge. If i disconnect the temp sensor wire, the gauge drops to zero straight away, so im wondering if its the wrong sensor or wiring somewhere in the loom. I know the car is not getting to full...

    Crash switch

*cough* what he said haha To be honest the only time i ever used one was back in 96 with my first car and AA told me i had to hold for 10seconds and i would hear a click..... different car though.
  25. M

    Crash switch

No, although to reset you need to press and holdfor a few seconds for it to reset. When in an accident the fuel supply gets cut, this switch resets that.

Engine problems any ideas and/or need good garage near St Albans

You mention the oil smell and that it was topped up, but do you know if the oil is actually circulating the engine? (i.e coming up to the camshafts?) the clattering sound could be a multitude of things. Cylinder 3? did they do compression test? If they have checked the cam shaft im guessing...

    expert help needed pls guys!

first things first, ditch renaults service desk and go to motorserv if you have one round your neck of the woods? always more than happy to help and normally have the diagrams in the book to go by, or they will get the product of the shelf and match like for like if you take the old with you.

    Alloy problem...

sorry mate i don't, I haven't even taken my misses alloys of here clio yet lol
  29. M

    Alloy problem...

the rings are used to create a tight fit around the hub and centre the alloy correctly, they only really work if the hub has the pretruding lip, I know on many cars now the hubs/discs are flat faced so a spigot ring would be useless.
