Can't say I've ever had a problem with Acer, but then again only ever had one laptop from them - couldn't agree more with avoiding AMD though.

This. Don't forget HDDs used a Disk so it was more vital that they were held firmly in place, where as SSD is flash memory and won't be affected by a bit of movement. Providing the cable is secure that is.
