Yes you can, obviously the quality will not be as good as using a good aftermarket head unit with a dedicated pre-out for the amp / sub but if your wanting to keep the oem look I've found they work just fine of the standard head unit

i woudnt say its a waste, its definitely an improvement over standard but from my memory the lowest springs I could find were 35mm if I wanted to go lower coilovers were the only option but you are right it does give them a normal look lol

I had my mk3 lowered 35mm and it still wasn't low enough, I had 17" on mine as I found 16" to small Imo it looked ok but if I would have kept the car I probably would have looked at lowering it a bit more on coilovers. Just a though though the 16" Canada alloys that come on some of the mk3s do...

Sounds daft but have you tried simply taking the bulbs out and putting them back in again I had problems with my mk3 headlights and this seem to do the trick failing that maybe the stalk is faulty where you switch the high beam on? Do they work if you just pull the stalk forward e.g to flash someone

I would always go with a company with a good reputation obviously this could be more expensive but you hear so many stories about bad remaps buying cheap seems to be a big no no

Yes mate they are painted underneath I removed mine the only thing I noticed was a slight texture to the paint but wasn't really noticeable, you definitely need a heat gun or even a hairdryer though to heat it up or its a pain to removd
