Is it supposed to stay in the on position when pushed or are you supposed to hold it to keep the machine running?
Mine pops out unless held which is getting old real quick, wondering if I have a faulty machine.
Did my first correction on my BG 182 this weekend using DAS6/Hexlogic green with Poorboys SSR 2.5. Eliminated all the swirls (only did the bonnet) but it left the deeper scratches and I can now see all the stonechips that I didn't know were there. Will be getting the Hexlogic orange pad for...
Surely you need to clay before using a buffer/machine?
Don't have a full answer for you but will be interested to know how it turns out with the Victoria Wax on black. I'm pretty much in the same newbie boat, finally got everything I need and just waiting for a good day to do it.
My car is...
Doesn't have to cost a lot to get improvement, just need to know where to spend the money. If you're going to run only the Alpine HU then absolutely change the crap paper-cone Renault speakers for something else. I guarantee you will hear the difference.
Keep the Focal components for if/when...
Headunit speaker out to x-over
x-over outputs to mids/tweeters as marked on the x-over unit
It will be major ball-ache to run fresh wire through the doors into the x-over, assuming you hide them under the dash somewhere. You can get away with splicing/scotch locking into the original wires...
If they have a separate crossover then yes you will need to run cable from the x-over to the amp (you are using an amp?) and then to each mid/tweeter
If they have a built in x-over, usually a resistor on the tweeter then you will have to run cable either from the mid to the tweeter or from the...
Re: What have you ordered?
In readiness for my first crack at detailing I've recently bought:
IPA
Chemical guys Hex-Logic pads (various)
Meguiar's lambswool mitt
Valetpro Citrus tar remover
Valetpro Protectant
Valetpro Bilberry wheel cleaner
Dodo Juice Born to be Mild
Bilt Hamber soft claybar...
Aparrently they are Renault OE. As you've got a 182FF they must be the cup pack springs, same as mine. Don't know if cup springs are any different to "normal" ones with regard to ride height.
I'm sure someone who knows will be along shortly...
How do these kits work for colour matching?
I've just done a quick search on eBay and found loads of them but my wheel is Renault anthracite and I don't fancy driving round with a big silver patch on it!
I managed to scuff my wheel against the kerb a while back and now it's bugging me, so time to get it sorted.
It's only light but has gone right through the clearcoat and paint - knowing how these things can easily start peeling/corroding/spreading what would be the best way to deal with this...
Soft it is then. When I bought the car the paintwork looked amazing - I never understood why I could never get it looking anything like as good using bog standard Turtlewax products. I now realise the dealer must have had it detailed before I picked it up.
So this spring I'm on a mission...
I've owned my Clio for almost 2 years and it's never been clayed (as far as I know), so i've decided to give this detailing lark a go.
Reading up on Bilt-Hamber clay usage I've seen conflicting advice;
1) Use "normal" on a car that has never been clayed (to properly remove contaminants)...
Can anyone recommend a good dent removal guy who covers central/east London? Those 4x4's with the spare wheel on the back have a lot to answer for
Exactly. Used the same with my car, no need to drill holes. Plenty of room if you're using 8 gauge wire.
Might be a problem if you've got 4 gauge or larger
So how much are you lot paying for fitting/balancing/valves?
I'm about to pull the trigger on a set of 4 PS3's and I'm hovering between the convenience of the local kwik-fit @ £492 all in, or £403 from camskill delivered and saving some money by doing a bit of running around. £89 is £89.....
I've been google rolling for the past 2 hours and still can't find a definite answer, so short of going outside with a torch looking at all the cars on my street:
Do these tyres have rim protection (205/45 16) ?
The fronts are unmarked, they were sourced by my local garage and made the car sit high in front - looked ridiculous.
They're definitely not prolines/pro-kit! I've just fit pro-kit and Eibach print their name on them.
I've just changed the springs on my 182 for a set of Eibach's and these are what came off:
I know the fronts aren't Renault OE as they were previously fitted by my local garage. Are the rears Renault OE, or if not does anyone recognise the distinctive red-white markings as coming from a...
