Seems to becoming a popular conversion to do.
Got myself a new dump valve well recirc valve. The nice fancy valve that i got off a mate has a 32mm flange and i could find a 51mm t piece silicon with a 32mm take off. So got myself a standard VAG Recirc valve total sum of £8.91 bargin.
Next on my list was wiring and there is a lot of it...
Had a good full day working on the car at the weekend.
Got the side skirts properly glued on.
Tiger seal is horrible stuff. Will on come off my hands.
Next i wired in most things only the alternator, fan, fuel pump and injectors left to do but i go a bit bored of wires by this point. I...
A lick of paint.
Then set about making my adjustable panhard rod.
all cut up.
finished article.
Blanking plate for the idle control valve.
Now i have a good space to work i will be getting more things done. i have loads of things to be getting on with but was a pain in the arse...
Been a little bit since an update.
Got myself a decent work spot sorted up ready for the winter.
Then set to making some flanges with -6 connections for the fuel rail.
All sorted now. Took a gamble and got a square connector one turned up this morning. Fitted it in 5 mins. I tested the washers nothing happened at first took ages for the water to come but spot on now.
Had a bit more a of a play about with my Hard pipe crimper.
Came out quite well i think.
The pipes just need a lick of paint, some jubilee clips and that one item checked off the list.
Also moved the fuel as almost touching the downpipe wasnt a wise chose. lol and it will make the...
My washer motor has finally stopped all together but i cant be arsed to pull the scuttle apart to see what motor i need. I know it twin outlet but there are 2 different connector type a square type one and a round one.
Its a 53 172 cup. Anyone know?
Cheers
James
It wasnt that long ago that apple were ordered to pay samsung a vast sum of money. In the mobile market they tread on each others toes. Apple is the worst and have a lot of cases outstanding against them.
Got the arb converted to use rose joints.
Old tabs drilled out.
Kinda looks like the same picture but thats either end.
Then welded the shouldered thread into the arb.
And all done. I have cropped the thread down to size.
Went to put it on the car and as its summer the heavens...
Bit of an update.
Took last friday off and did a few things on the fiesta.
Managed to get the bottom end mostly built up. Need to get a dash connector welded on the sump. But as i only had that day to do thing i kept forgetting to take pics. I do have some tho.
I have shorted the fuel pipes...
Have a look through the for sale section on here. Should be able to get a standard airbox for less than that. Get a performance panel filter for it small gain in it and better than the cone filters.
I was rather surprised when i got my cup how good they are on fuel. I get 370 to 400 from a...
Im sure everyone has heard this one before.
Lights been on in my 172 cup since i bought it. I had a crack fiddling with the connectors under both seats a few times. Gave them a clean still not working. So got fed up cracked out the soldering iron and join the correct wires to each other. Still...
Yer but its a diesel 180 and although feels quick and has a good torque figure to go with it soon runs out. Although st's arent very fast i think even a 180 golf would have to work hard to see one off.
True but that still be tuned to perform in any condition ie ok in the wet and ok in the dry. You can adjust your foot for the road and the conditions so i think you would still be better off without. Bit of swings and roundabouts but the slip that abs allows isnt enough to get the best in the dry.
Parts are worth more not attached to a car. Also opens your car up to more people to buy it ie my mum like clio sports but not one with coilovers and exhaust. I dont like buying modified cars as i think they have had a hard life.
Blue white smoke is oil being burnt could be number of things. piston rings are dead and oil blowing past easy way to tell is to take the oil filler cap off and see if there is a lot of blow back. Could be dead turbo seal if you have a turbo diesel. Tired valve seals can give smoke but usual not...
From a post on another forum. They were really good. Only thing they questioned me abput was how i bought it for 650 and it worth 2500ish now. Due to restoration.
Your can stop quicker without ABS. It takes a bit of control compared to ABS where you can just stamp on the pedal and not think about it.
Its a nice safety net but i havent had abs in any of my cars for the last 4 years. You get use to it.
I hate the people with diesels that believe they are mega fast because theres a bit of a surge to it.
Meet one guy with a mk4 golf tdi that had been remapped that would keep up with fiesta st no prob. My xr2 with a very tired 1.6 went no prob past it.
I need to get me some remapping kit as...
