Had a better look last night and the car survived really well. Got underneath and pulled loads of mud and grass, but other than that and what people are telling me was the splitter it's fine.
Not sure what came off is called. More like just a cover for the bottom of the engine bay. Glad i hadn't bought one of those carbon splitters yet. It's just whatever is around where the standard air feed intakes under the engine. It does seem to have come off where a splitter would attach...
I'll flash if they're in a renault sport. I see loads but always when my girlfriends driving her car. And a 330d would probably elicit 2 fingers by flashing a clio. Will do in the 172 though.
not sure on the road exactly. We were driving back from Tewksbury, although the long way on a road my friend directed me onto. I can ask him later. Although, I,d suggest even though most people on here are more experienced than me, take that corner easy .
For the record I'm not suggesting I'm proud of myself. But I'd be lying if i didn't say it was a big rush also.
I'll not be getting that out of shape again, learned my lesson relatively consequnce free. What doesn't kill you and all that.
I'm not a particularly irresponsible person usually...
I bought My 172 6 months ago for 3500 with 47000 miles. Belts already done, and the exhaust had been changed (standard one doesn't last from what I've read). I'm no expert, but from reading this forum largely i found myself a good car. Drove 4 or 5 before i settled on mine.
I have had 0...
Yeh pretty much. Lesson learned, I've not been driving long either.
In my defence I think better rear tires, more experience and not lifting off mid corner would help :-)
Or failing that a scooby or evo. My mate insisted his car would have sorted itself out without too mcuh drama.
I found out the hard way about lift off oversteer!
Went for a drive with a mate and he assured me he'd found a brilliant road in his scooby last week. It was a fairly epic road, lot's of fast sweeping corners, some tighter sections and a few straight bits.
I was coming into a corner at...
I keep seeing a phase1 wih a personalised plate outside work.
2 things.
1. I like your exhaust
2. How do you not get a ticket, i thought it was 2 hours max parking there.
Not sure mate. I'll be honest i just tried, but i can't remember what i did on monday. Brains not what it used to be. I don't think so though, although i could have been driving around there.
Now i've got one though i keep seeing renault sport clios though. My car came with tints if that...
I've got the viper kit. I haven't noticed too much differeence if i'm honest. It's certainly not worth the money, but i wanted it becasue of carbon look, as i want to get a few other carbon touches for my car.
I have attached the cold air feed on my viper to the original cold air feed from...
Hi Guys
Did i see you mention you saw a 172 round dursley way? I've driven through there a lot recently going to see a friend in coley. Quite a twisty affair :)
I'm in a flame red 172,
Cheers
James
I'm only a year older than you and i bought my 172 as my first car so i wouldn't stress about it too much. i did my research and this forum was incredible for that. Buy one, I love mine. i paid £3500 for an 02 172 with 45k miles. It's mint and was the 4th or 5th one i drove so just shop...
I've just bought a flame red 172.
Yours looks a hell of a lot better.
Love the wheels and the badges, may have to copy that :-)
Looks mean with the black.
Nice car.
They look like they are the same dude. One tip i have though is that theres enough space inside them to increase the flash drive storage.
You can take a 4 or 8 gig flash drive apart and wire it into one of the usb ports inside the computer. Gives you a bit more storage. There are guides on...
Yeh it's standard apart from the tints and a k-tec stealth exhaust. Came like that but it suits so i don't mind. Needs better tires on the front i think or all round of money permits. What does everyone use? That and an air filter of some sort and i'm happy.
Everything where i live is walking distance, used to be more into mountain biking. Student for a a while, i'm a lethal blagger of lifts, worked and lived in town centre. Just never needed a car really. I don't need one now, I want one!
Just paid the membership :-)
It's the burgundy colour (is that called flame red)?
It has tints as well that i will probably remove and a cat 1 alarm and immobiliser clifford cocncept 300 i think. Don't mind that as it won't do the insurance any harm.
Pics to follow
Hi everyone.
Take delivery of my (almost standard) 2002 clio 172 on sunday all being well. This forum has already been a great help in researching getting a good one.
I'm 27 and this is my first car :-) Anything will feel fast i know, but i thought i'd skip getting a rubbish first car as...
Yes! I'm only 27 and I've seen used and built PC's from p2 and p3 chips in slot 1 cartridge thingy's. As far as i'm aware the pentium 3 was a way better chip thatn the pentium 4 in many respects. So much so that the core duo is developed more from the pentium 3 when intel finally gave up on...
