strip mine down every year and had no squeeling - bit of copperslip in the right place ;)
now running ds at the rear and ds2500 in the front with 2 part discs :D
normal to me :D
it will drop some water when working - mainly from the condenser iirc
some cars do it more than others
if your air con leaks it wont be water it would be oil it drops :D
are you sure its a "burning" smell - a/c systems can create a breeding ground for bacteria which makes funny smells if its not used for a while thats why they sell those canisters you let fill the interior with chemicals and put the a/c on recirculate - it draws in the chemicals to the heater...
mmmm thought the a/c compressor clutch is an electromagnetic clutch as it has an electrical feed to it - press the switch and a electrical winding pulls the hub in to engaugement that the reason for the loud "click" when its switched on
they may pass the mot....
hid are not "e" marked or homologated for the use of, so in effect break "construction and use regs" because if they are fitted as standard they must have self level and washers fitted
the headlights are not designed for the output of the bulbs and can cause dazzle...
shame your not closer to me would have liked to given you a hand - i was always curious about this mod engines look very similar - think the 225 cam cover is quite a bit different but the 197 has the under bonnet space - as for gearboxes 225 / 197 are they really the same ?
not sure on the clio g/box but 4th gear is usually direct drive so if the nosie goes off could be layshaft bearings as 1/2/4 & 5 will drive through the layshaft and hence the increase noise
another possibilty could be diff bearings - any wear or play will cause noise on the over run and or under...
put it this way if they were in the wrong order it would either misfire or pop and bang
go back to the start and retrace what has been done - as it was not doing it before
as said sounds like its got an air leak causing the revving up
