Thats got more to do with what you did to the car than the car itself.
I had a 106gti and most of my colleagues at the time also had german cars, but it wasnt a big issue.
Im a mac engineer and have to go on site quite often at some really high profile clients. I usually go in the work L200...
About 3 months ago. Got an 02 plate 172 after I traded the type-r in for a nissan note for the mrs. Wanted something cheap and fun to replace the 106gti I missed like a son.
Although, technically... I suppose it was about 6 years ago. The wife inherited an 85' R5 GT Turbo fron her nan (!). 33k...
Re: iphone 4... f**king screen not going off when making calls..im on 4.1 too
Its a known 'issue'. The proximity sensor is a bit flakey, so it doesnt sense when your face is near it properly. Hopefully it will be fixed with a FW revision.
Re: iMac? Any good?
Not a terrible price. It will do you fine and aperture should run ok. The problem you are going to have is that, at 5 years I assume its the white Power PC processor one, you are stuck with 10.5 as your OS and eventually upgrades to things like firefox wont support it.
Re: iMac? Any good?
How much? Older macs are still surprisingly efficient when using iMovie and the like, so it wll still do a job unless you are going to be rendering HD stuff on final cut.
Yeah, oil is a killer. Something to be aware of is the paintwork seems to be pretty pathetic. I had far more stone chips than you would usually expect and the civic forums also had a lot of people with the same complaints.
I keep a pretty respectful distance away from the car in front and go...
The clio is a nicer drive. Speedwise, theres not a lot in it. Day to day, you can drive the clio faster because of the steering. You have to rev the balls out of both of them to get what you want, though. When I first got the type-r it took me a while to get used to revving that high. Was good...
Great car. Just sold one before I got the clio. Never had to put any more than a tyre on it in all the time I owned it, absolutely clockwork.
A few things got on my tits. It has the turning circle of a small moon, making day to day maneuvers a bit of a pain in the arse, you have to take out and...
Fair play. Its just some of the stuff I read on here does make you think, with people going straight to, essentially, sports cars for their first or second car. My minion wrote off two 1ltr Polos before he was 19 and now he has just bought a MK V GT at 20 and he does not drive it well...
Im...
I thought this once upon a time when i had my 106gti, so I got rid. Regretted it with every subsequent car, trying to recapture the fun I had with the pug until I got the clio, really.
Tbh, at 22 theres plenty of time to get new cars and it probably wouldnt hurt to see if the grass really is...
True. I sold the type-r to fund a family wagon and get a cheap runaround. Set a budget of 2800 for the clio and I was literally tripping over really well looked after cars, fsh, 60-70k on the clock with belts done.
The one I finally bought had been up for sale for a couple of months and the...
The last two cars I have sold were advertised on a specialist site (honda and mitsu), PH, Autotrader and ebay.
Both of them (and the vast majority of enquiries) sold through autotrader.
I would say get it up asap. Better to have to blag lifts than have a millstone round your neck as cars can...
Im an Apple Field Engineer for a Apple Authorised Service Provider. My minion sees quite a few of these in the workshop.
Basically, we charge 80 quid to strip the machine apart, assess the damage and write up an insurance report that 99% of insurers accept without question (because we are apple...
When I bought my 172, the guy took me down to an industrial sidings to give it a quick belt up and down the supply road. I didnt even ask, tbh as I wasnt insured so I was just expecting him to put it through its paces and me listen for squeaks and whistles. I would never have driven it on a...
Its hard to say. 4 years ago (when I was 26 with 4 years NCB) Norwich Union wanted 1400 for fully comp on a 9 year old 106 GTI. The same (ish) company (aviva) have just signed me up with a quote of 400 for an 7 year old 172.
I cant speak for *every* model, but I had a bluetooth, iPhone ready Kenwood head unit in my type-r and it was absolutely terrible.
I had two in the end as I took one back but they both appeared as broken as each other.
Random USB errors, 'ACCESSORY NOT SUPPORTED' errors on the iPhone, random...
