How much could I sell for?
Just curious. My car has developed a knocking noise that is getting louder. The noise only occurs when steering & accelerating at the same time. It's been diagnosed as the gearbox, most likely the diff.
I don't really want to drive around in it as it is anymore...
I wouldn't have thought they have any right to ask for more money. You paid what was asked and then the job was done. Finished.
What are they going to do? Come and throw a brick at your windscreen?
It's a monster of a car. I've heard different bhp figures. But all I know is it's got a sheeeyiiite load haha.
I actually spoke to the guy as he was on his way out, and asked him how much it was. He just said, "Too much."
Visited madness car show today with Modified North West. Shame about the weather, meant not much action outside or good photo opportunities.
Some decent cars around. Some trash too of course. Some pictures I took below: (Sorry about phone pics, and I'm not photographer)

If your pre-cat sensor is fooked, then it could be over fueling. Which will put a lot of s**t in your pipes.
I had to replace my cat & pre-cat sensor to pass my MOT 2 weeks ago.
It would if been somewhere in the region of £200,000 iirc
Edit: I could be quite off with that estimate, I'm going off what they where worth 50 years earlier during the war. So could be quite a bit less than that, maybe £100-130k
I genuinely can't get my head around £40,000. FOR A GOLF.
All I can think looking at the price tag is I can buy a 3/4 year old GTR for that.
I know the running costs are more and blah blah before anyone starts.
I noticed on the way too/from work today that when I put my foot down it hesitates* 2 or 3 times through the rev range. It does it in 2nd-6th, don't think it does it in 1st.
What sort of issue am I looking at? (car is '00 1.4 sport 8v)
*by hesitates I mean I can feel the power dropping off...
Mine locks itself after a certain time if I'm near it with the keys. But only when I'm near.
I left my car unlocked all day through work by accident, came out and it was still unlocked. But I almost locked my keys in the boot. Dropped them in, went in the house then though, where are my keys...
Car failed MOT on emissions. Needs a new cat and oxy sensor apparently.
Found a cat on ebay for £32 delivered. Bit suspicious of the price as seems a little cheap, but says it's new.
Can't figure out what lambda sensor I need.
Car is a 2000 Clio ph1 1.4 8v sport. Was going to order this one...
Just thought I'd update this. Bought a full driveshaft off ebay, booked in for fitting on the 24th of this month.
Just hope my current one lasts, because I will do between 300-500 miles until the new one is fitted.
Where from mate?
I've found a full drive shaft w/ cv boots on for £32.50 off ebay. +£60ish for fitting at garage isn't to bad imo. Don't really have the time/tools to do it myself.
I was under the impression that if there is knocking and play in the shaft, then it's already gone past just a new boot. Don't want to spend money on a new boot etc and then it still need a new driveshaft. But obviously at the same time I don't want to spend the money on a new shaft if it's not...
My bad, it was late :) 2000 Ph1 1.4 8v sport.
Got some pictures of what I'm working with:
Can clearly see one hole that has been botched by previous owner. That's split now. And there's also another patch of grease in first pic. So I'm assuming there is two holes. So that definetely needs...
Hate posts like this :P makes me paranoid. Need to get the car jacked up after work now and check these things.
Has anybody had a new drive shaft fitted? If so how much did it cost?
Got an advisory on my MOT for small hole in passenger side CV boot/joint. Never had the time to get round to looking at it or sorting it, due to time and funds. done nearly 12k miles since getting it in May last year, and just recently its started knocking during heavy turning.
This would leave...
