Basically the way a brake setup works is on front to rear bias. The front brakes will generally always be significantly bigger. The rear setup on the 172 is solid with a smaller diameter. the disc is specifically designed in conjuction with the caliper so you will not fit the much fatter vented...
1144's are a sound fast road setup. only last me 120miles on track though:(

EBC are dodgy. The ONLY set i could honestly recommend is the hard compound yellows but they are not a road pad.
I say DS2500's or 1144's, very similar pads
So when it was built thats about £95-£100k, and thats for the tuning alone....
Can you imagine spending £100k on your own car? then spending 25%-50% again on the shell. so you've spent around £150k. What would you want back?! I think its reasonable
Although from a scrutineer's point of view it'd fail. Because if the seat rips up, so will you. The harness is suppose to secure you and the seat to the floor. Like a spinal board effectively. Which wont work if your face becomes a steering wheel
Its interesting you say that, i did wonder. I wouldnt say it was an upgrade everywhere but then i dont own one. Its certainly not faster and i would be surprised if it got similar lap times without alot of fettling

Ask someone how knows what its like. a loss of a cyclinder should be noticeable to anyone. Its like a big missfire and loss of power and happens very suddenly
Coils are often an off or on symptom. So if its switching from 2 - 4 cylinders etc then your on the right track but if its just sluggish i'd look elsewhere as its more like map related
