using correct oil? its pretty hot in mexico so might mean more regular oil changed required?

you dont normally 99% of the time lose your NCB if you get 'just' your windscren replaced through insurance.
You will possibly have to pay a windscreen excess usually £50-£100 and thats that.
Best way to check i give your insurance provider a quick bell.
