I was changing both driveshafts so you loose the gearbox oil when taking out the n/s one.
I drained it first to save the mess then refilled it after i was done with 3l of oil using a funnel attached to a handy piece of brake pipe I found in the shed, perfect length with a nice bend on the end...
I went for 75w80 mineral. I couldn't find and 75w80 synth locally so this will do for now.
I'm considering ordering up some tranself 75w80 NFJ and replacing it for peace of mind, I'm not sure if the comma mineral stuff is any good for the box.
Replaced both driveshafts this week with Renault refurbished-exchange ones.
My sportlines arrived from Chris205 too so I got them on while I was at it.
Sorry I forgot to take pics for most of it so here are a couple I did manage.
Jacked up.
Old and new o/s shaft.
Dust seal to be...
Started changing out both driveshafts on my ph2 172 today. Got the old ones off no bother, but my new driver's side one (Renault re-conditioned) doesn't have the dust seal at the gearbox end that the old one has.
Do I need this seal and can I swap it over as it seems to be crimped on?
If I...
Is the washer ball missing? Happens a lot when they freeze up.
I'm not sure if you technically need it for MOT or not, but in the real world I doubt someone would fail you for it.
Replacement jet assembly from renault is £15 per side.
Cheapo fix I did was to buy some black beads (10 for...
Seems quite high to me.

Sorry I maybe wasn't clear there. If you were looking for a Monaco Blue Clio, the 172 is the most common model in that colour.
Ph1s came in odyssey which I think is close and the Williams 3 was Monaco. Not sure what colour the blue valvers were?
IIRC Less Monaco 172s were produced then any...
Hi Rhauri,
Monaco is a good choice, love mine.
I think exclusive was the final run of phase1 172s. Renault made 172 of them and they had cd player, A/C and a leather interior. I think they had different alloys too.
Monaco is most common on ph2 172s, they are non-cup versions and come with...
Ah ok sorry, usually that's why people ask for the weight of stuff.
Nothing definitive, 8.4 kgs seems to be the best answer, have a look here:

Or here...
To be fair it doesn't say that it has cup packs this time, and all the clutch gubbins may have been removed.
But I'd expect to be told if I was buying a 182, that it didn't have a 182 engine.
The car still probably drives fine and would make a good purchase at the right price, it's just a...
Take battery out and try and switch it on with no power, should discharge capacitors inside. Replace battery and then charge it.
Worked for my mrs' evo 3d.
Like it on the engine cover and strip. It's a bit more subtle than whole panels that look gash to me.
To remove try soaking kitchen roll in tardis and laying it over for 10 mins to soak into the stickiness.
I'm in the same situation, got some accelleras? on the turinis I bought.
They're noisy and terrible in the wet but in the dry the are not bad, just going to run them down over the summer until I get the wheels refurbed when the winters are back on.
You should get a mint RB (Racing Blue) for £5000, should find a couple of Trophies close to that too.
Check the marketplace on here, think you need to subscribe but it's well worth it for the cars and parts plus you get access to the guides.
Hi, welcome to CS.
Whereabouts are you based? 182s are good value just now and plenty about so shop around make sure you pick a good one.
The light blue is Racing Blue (known as RB on here), they are nice with the stripes. I'm not sure if you can get OE ones retrofitted, but I'm sure any...
