I stayed with them in my 182 when I had it, but I always felt they had the upper hand. Standard for standard, yes there is not that much difference in ANY of the hot hatches.
Hell, I've beaten a civic type r in my Xsara. On paper it's not that much faster than my lightly modded Xsara but I...
Don't try it with a Xsara VTS ;)
Seriously, cars you'll more than likely beat are Saxo VTS & Pug 106 Gti's (just), 306 GTi's/Xsara VTS just, civic type r's, Golf Gti's, Corsa VXr, RX8 190's, Impreza WRX (not classic or from standing start) about the same.
Don't bother with Astra VXr, Focus...
Don't bother. They'll want a one off payment or something to 'pass on' your details or will get money for forwarding your details on to other companies. A waste of time and money.
Mate, that's exactly why I needed to get rid of mine (cash due to only one income and two little kids). At the minute I'm getting 34mpg from the Xsara but I'm doing a few motorway miles in there.
I got £7200 for my 05 182 with 25,000 miles 3 months back. It was an import though, although I'm not sure the dealer (not Renault dealer) knew.
Part ex'd it for an '02 Xsara VTS, full service history, 55000 miles on it worth 3000. Not as fast as the 182 but close enough and a damn sight...
Dan, it's the price I pay for getting old and having a missus popping out more kids. :rasp: Oh yeah and I needed cash fast. Still, it's an ugly SOB but it goes well and I'll get it looking respectable soon.
Well, I traded it in today and got a Xsara VTS plus cash (cheque which is being payed in tomorrow) for my 182. When I went to enquire about trading it in on Tuesday (before I'd been informed it *might* be an import) I said as far as I was aware it wasn't an import and it was a UK car.
Nothing...
Peperami, that is not exactly true. He said everything was fine with the hpi check, not everything was fine with the car. I would have thought that if it was an import that he should have to inform me if he was aware.
I've owned my 182 for about 9 months now and have decided to sell it, but have just found out that it's an import. The Renault dealership I bought it from didn't tell me this, but did an hpi check where they said 'everything was fine'. Have I got any comeback here?
If I want to trade in or part ex my car which is more expensive than the one I want do garages/dealers give cash/cheque back to you? Anyone on here done this before?
Or will I have to sell my car privately?
Thinking of getting rid of the 182 to free up some cash and swapping it for a 172 (ideally a 172 cup although normal ones are more numerous and easier to pick up).
I've got around £5k max. Will I notice the difference between a 182 and a normal 172? I guess if I get a 172 for about £4K I can...
If you genuinely have 309bhp and the m3 is standard you should take him. He'll probably have the edge at the start (rwd) but from then on I'd imagine you'd take him.
Annoyingly one of my alloys is curbed (never lend your car to the wife :dapprove: ). It's one of the darker 182 alloys (anthracite?). How much will it cost to get refurbished and is there anywhere in the North East that people can reccommend?
Cheers
You aren't some 17 year old kid! You're 25, just take it easy until you get used to it and don't rise to the bait from other drivers (until you've got used to it ;) ) and you'll be fine.
Surely your parents and bf realise you aren't a kid anymore? They should be grateful it's not a motorbike!
Can't afford it now but should be able to in a few months/year. Just looking into other options apart from ktec (that's not to say I have a problem with them, just want to know what else is out there).
Not sure, but I know I heard it somewhere. Found this link, although it's Top Gear and the Boxsters lap was wet The times are at the top of the page.

Rufstuf, what are you driving and what mods are you currently running (if any)?
