I've seen them since then, Fred started a rumour that they were now on my car, but is refusing pictures until the engine is painted a "non gay" colour.
The only picture I have they are still on Matt's car.
fair enough.
as above, get a picture of the pothole and start complaining asap.
i think there is a dedicated phoneline for potholes, there was a thread about it on here recently.
you're there too Tony?
bugger, I'll be working as normal...
I'm keen to see the burpscud in action as well..
a.jenkin, if you've been as a passenger I think you should have a pretty good idea of your way round.
looks like decent weather too
welcome fella.
if you are going to track it, i would get the geometry checked too, just for peace of mind.
it wouldn't need to be far out to kill your tyres pretty quickly!
it could well feel more bouncy because of the suspension changes, the most efficient height would have the wishbones...
no. the spring is compressed exactly the same amount. only the platform has moved.
it is possible to run into problems at the other end of the adjustment, where the spring is being compressed between the platform and the top mount.
but here the spring is just resting on the platform with the...
sorry dude,
I thought that was why you were asking, knowing you to be pretty helpfull and all
do you not think that tyre and wheel looks close to the shock in the picture?
that doesn't look good!
is the wheel as close to the strut as it looks in that picture too?
have you had a good look around all the mounting points, whishbones, etc, too?
definately pop through to daniel, he'll have a good look over it for you i'm sure.
there is a big thread about this on moneysaving expert, "vile price" is a legal term but seems to apply to immovable objects?
there is also a solicitor on there who thinks there are grounds for a class action against pixmania, so maybe you could all still be onto a winner..
a major factor is tyre pressures, if these are wrong you will wear the tyres much faster.
if you are driving particularly like a hooligan you may need to run different pressures left to right (when cold). for instance on a clockwise circuit with mostly right handers you will probably find the...
What is the offset on you're wheels Ad?
I know they aren't standard, but cant remember the details.
as above though, you'll most likely have problems with these!
I'm not sure about the offset or scrubbing issue, but does the op realise that changing the ride height will have an effect on the other settings, ie. camber, castor etc?
I seem to remember that the standard 172 wheels are et 46, but I also ran 37's.
They were fine with 45 profile tyres, but...
don't you have some nappies to change or something
when in may is prescott?
an excuse you say?
i'm waiting for Fred to put the car back together then i'm waiting for Matt to have time to wire and map it.....
seriously though, I'll drop you a pm later to ask some details, also...
i'm sure you won't be so slow as to need me there to beat.....
do you have to sign up for the season, or is it possible to just do odd rounds?
problem for me is i can't be sure when i will have days off, they can also change with little warning. i am definately planning to try to get to see...
you know what, i'd be tempted with that.
unfortunately i work 99% of weekends and am working six days most weeks at the moment. ;)
don't you have to run standard internals too?
as far as i can remember, Koni are one of the few cheaper dampers to use a seperate valve for compression and rebound, the same as a much more expensive set.
i think most cheap sets have one valve to control both cycles, this gives a less supple ride and wears faster.
i take it you hillclimb then?
i'm half interested in trying some low level competition, but i do think i'm too impatient.
i have put a lot of time and money into my car, but mostly with the aim of making it a bulletproof track toy.
