on my mk1 172, when i change my head unit for a non-renault unit, apart from getting a lead to make the steering wheel stalk controls work with the head unit, what if anything will work on the in-dash display ??? will it work at all ??? is there some cunning adapter i can buy ??? i thought...

well obviously, we are all entitled to our own opinions, but i just much prefer the MK1s.... to the extent that i could have bought myself a brand new MK2 , got all the warranty etc. but instead have bought a second hand Mk1.... but then again, im only just getting round to accept the Mk4...

not knowing much about this sort of thing, what are the advantages / disadvantages or having this done.... little bit more power possibly ? smoother power delivery ? any downsides??

have you noticed that this "guy" never actually has any comeback after he makes his posts... its quite amusing though !! there was something a bit like this on scoobynet where some bloke kept on making similar comments about his subaru justy or something equally amusing.... oh and there...

i meant downpipe not exhaust

oh well i might give that a go then... the bloke at the garage said he had tried to fix it by changing the shape / angle of the exhaust at that point but it stilll knocked and when he took it back to renault, they just put the original shaped exhaust back on again and made the problem worse !!!

i like a challenge though ...or rather i hate annoying (and in this case very loud) rattling noises.. i had an annoying rattle in the vr6 for a while... ended up with various new parts in the back....finally discovered that all the new parts were in the right area but not the actual...

yes well i did think that but it definitely aint the wheels.... its the wrong kind of noise... i know the spinning and jumping wheel noise.. 1st, 2nd and some of 3rd in the wet in the vr6 with a heavy right foot seem to cause it !!! this is definitely a knocking noise.. ive checked to...
