As part of stripping my car how many airbags are located in the 172 cup?
The steering wheel has already been changed, there will be one in the drivers dash, can this be removed or unplugged etc?
Are there any others in the car?
Will removing all the rear seatbelts etc cause any problems or...
I then ordered a full set of injectors from Renparts, around £130 so not expensive really, althought I was tempted to change the one I thought was going to be bad anyway due to the spark plug.
Dead easy to fit, I just followed this guide .
The injector I thought was bad, definitely was, it was...
So a little update.
I had the car rolling roaded but the RR bloke said he thought it had an injector issue that might be holding it back a little.
I was still happy with the result, but would of liked to have seen a few more bhp to match the other graphs I have for the car, its only 3-4 bhp...
slowly going to be stripping mine out over the net few weeks.
I will be keeping the heaters etc, the only thing I am worried about is how much colder it will be in winter going to work, not really sure it will make that much difference though.
I removed the rear seats parcel shelf and boot...

I dont know what to do, the car is used for work and back, around 80 miles a week. then I will do prob 10 sprints plus a few practice days in one year etc.
The belts are due next year, it uses oil, not a massive amount but I do top it up probably every 2-3 weeks, but it is always...
just read this thread as I am planning on a rebuild within the next year or 2.
Great thread with some good info!
I am trying to find out the full costs a of a rebuild, any chance you remember what it was roughly Graham? PM me if you dont mind letting me know :)
well after a couple of weeks of looking for some 15" wheels and being offered second hand sets with minor marks for £300 I decided to order a brand new set from rimstock with the correct centre bore.
Just need the tyres now!
I have ordered Pilot sport 3's, £220 for a set of 4.
Looking forward...
wheels looks great, I was looking at them yesterday myself. to go white was an extra £100 quid or something so sod that, I take it these are the gloss black?
You have just reminded me my O rings that hold the bumper on are knackered so need to order more!

bumping an old thread. I am after some 15" tyres from 1A also.
does anyone have any thoughts, suggestions and reccomendations?
I have proxes T1R which are on the list, but any damp grease or rain and they try to kill you!
Mark I don't have a focus nor do I care about them, but I watched the video because I thought you had a presenters voice and seemed quite professional haha. You should be on a property program!
My car is now running great but I always like to be prepared.
I have done a search and RS tuner seems to come up a lot, most of it to do with mapping but saw it being used the odd time for fault finding and fault codes etc.
Is this still the best thing to get? Is there anything a bit cheaper...
Hi Guys
I have searched, but nothing conclusive.
I am after some recommendations for wheels for sprinting.
I have 16 inch Turinis with proxes on at the minute. I want to swap them for 15's and want better tyres anyway. I like the look of the pro race 1.2.
Are any of the wheels better then...
Yeah no they didnt do a power run as i developed a problem which they diagnosed as the TB. That wasnt there fault at all, just sods law!
But the chap told me he was sure it had never been mapped. He said he was pretty sure it didnt have cams, and the best bit that it would be 160bhp. He had...
fitted the PMS short shifter from the group buy earlier!
WOW! what a difference!! im not sure how juch shorter it is but definitely feels shorter, the main thing is how precise it is, it was hard going into gear before and I had to double check it was in sometimes, not its perfect, works great...
So I went to GR Performance today in Mexborough, they specialize in evos and Jap cars but it was only for a power run and AFR check.
the car made 190BHP, was really happy with the run. I mentioned the old plugs and they said to get either a new set of injectors or have them all flow tested.
at...
lovely looking car!
whats with all the hate for wind deflectors? I have never ever fitted them, but my 172 has them (was on when i bought) and I don't mind them at all!
think I have them the wrong way round them? I am sure the gearbox is on the right of the engine as i look at it from the front of the car.
Just been out and done 15 miles in stopo start and some foot down and its ran 100% perfect, yet I have done nothing from when it ran like shite this morning.
