Re: James/BigAsh 182 Race Car by TDF... It doesn't get much better than this! *Pic He
Especialy when one considers that I would HAVE to paddle shift it ;)
Re: James/BigAsh 182 Race Car by TDF... It doesn't get much better than this! *Pic He
I can almost justify a Sadev on the basis of massively reducing TDF internal labour charges :)
Re: James/BigAsh 182 Race Car by TDF... It doesn't get much better than this! *Pic He
I am very, very good at killing JC5's :) Paddle clutch plus hot A048's = boom!
Re: James/BigAsh 182 Race Car by TDF... It doesn't get much better than this! *Pic He
Corsa B column is a no go on an endurance car with hot sticky slicks and lots of steering action. The motor just isn't big enough and you get to the point of thermal related failures (or thermal shut down if...
Re: James/BigAsh 182 Race Car by TDF... It doesn't get much better than this! *Pic He
Alternator output. We don't want to change away from a stock cup alternator but in an endurance car where for night use you'll have 6 X HID's, Apex lights, regular cooling fan action etc. etc. on the go we...
Re: James/BigAsh 182 Race Car by TDF... It doesn't get much better than this! *Pic He
It will be fine ;) All it needs is a tank with a 750 - 1L greater capacity to increase the thermal mass of the fluid and some of this:
Job jobbed :)
Re: James/BigAsh 182 Race Car by TDF... It doesn't get much better than this! *Pic He
Great for sprint, not so great for endurance where every amp has to count and it's nearly 20 we can't spare with all the electrics James will have for endurance/night.
Re: James/BigAsh 182 Race Car by TDF... It doesn't get much better than this! *Pic He
A tank with another 750ml of capacity is even lighter and simpler though ;)
Re: James/BigAsh 182 Race Car by TDF... It doesn't get much better than this! *Pic He
13:1 compression with suitable cams and head gives around 225bhp in my experience. Supported power output of the stock injectors is entirely dependant on what AFRs you are aiming for. James runs 13:1 at...
There are always gains to be had but for an essentialy standard car that's a good result and a healthy pair of curves. A map will realise gains but as said relatively little peak on a standard car. Cams, matched inlets and map will see 190 though :)
Re: James/BigAsh 182 Race Car by TDF... It doesn't get much better than this! *Pic He
Oh and James don't forget we need to sort the lateral G screen washer ;)
Re: James/BigAsh 182 Race Car by TDF... It doesn't get much better than this! *Pic He
Just bubbling still had PAS assistance. EPAS is an option but expensive as Corsa B/C is a bit flaky with big slicks and lots of steering input. Electro Hydraulic is an option but I think another 500ml of...
This is a pretty common issue on the 197 and well worth taking note of should anyone else have a perfectly functioning car besides the starter. Clue is if it bump starts it's 99% this fuse that has failed.
We had a customer that Renault wanted to charged £1200 odd to replace the UPC because of...
Re: James/BigAsh 182 Race Car by TDF... It doesn't get much better than this! *Pic He
Of course I did :) Sadev ST75 with the lovely billet gear lever would be a rather fine addition......... just saying ;)
Re: James/BigAsh 182 Race Car by TDF... It doesn't get much better than this! *Pic He
With solid back plate filter, bonnet pins, slam panel removed and the few other bits required it's £220 Inc Vat additional on top of the standard kit price.
I will dig a graph out for you. Best example is...

Well we're nearing completion on the single seater Cosworth powered monocoque sports car I've been playing with for the past 6 months so yes ;)
Mono:

Development partner, not test mule :) I do my best to find you some discount everytime you're in - we do really appreciate the repeat custom!
Re: James/BigAsh 182 Race Car by TDF... It doesn't get much better than this! *Pic He
Well we pretty much have. The only bit that is standard is the plastic cage the selector sits in, actually tell a lie we chopped that to lighten it so no standard bits. With some work and the odd spring clip...
Re: James/BigAsh 182 Race Car by TDF... It doesn't get much better than this! *Pic He
Nope very much not a standard exhaust. It's a single box system with the box located east - west across the rear of the car. Tailpipes are clip fit so if someone punts the arse of it during a race the tail...
Re: James/BigAsh 182 Race Car by TDF... It doesn't get much better than this! *Pic He
Mid range torque mainly. We do a "motorsport" spec throttle package that has much longer trumpets with tapered runners that helps boost midrange torque. Not applicable for road cars with aircon as it fouls...

Sub 980KG with fluids. Not sure how much sub 980 yet until we do final setup!
Re: James/BigAsh 182 Race Car by TDF... It doesn't get much better than this! *Pic He
James wanted "a key" so we thought it rude not to use the orignal. The best bit is the special twist and press K'Egg style start sequence :)
Re: James/BigAsh 182 Race Car by TDF... It doesn't get much better than this! *Pic He
James thanks for the kind words! Really pleased you are happy with the car, you have been the driving force between how it turned out with very specific requests for components, locations etc. Everyone that...
Re: James/BigAsh 182 Race Car by TDF... It doesn't get much better than this! *Pic He
Yep it's here this Sunday but it will be in it's special "James Uber Clio" area so you'll have to peer over a rope to see it unless you ask really nicely ;)
