agreed with VTS dude, top value for a saxo vtr - the only thing that stopped me buying one was the cheap looking interior -sorry wasnt for me :( Even with the VTS, Id have a 106 gti with the leather/alcantara interior before the VTS - add to the fact that because of my age/ geographical location...

the 1.2 16v Dynamique would be very close with a 1.4 saxo.. the 1.1 westie...haha no chance against the valver.
As for VTRs...well the 8 valve lump is good for low down torque but my 206 is slightly , and I say slightly , quicker to 100 than the VTR. ( 1.6 16v XSI ).

Someone mentioned not to buy a new 172 because of the steep depreciation... Is an 12K import the same? And will it be able to be serviced/ warranty work carried out at a local Reno dealer??

S3s are gorgeous I reckon.. Sweet ass posh hatch :) Put it this way, I know someone who has a 996 Carrera and an S3 Its the perfect garage mate - even if it is only used for shopping trips!
cool site that , cheers mate... some wicked upgrades - big power hikes for diesels...
I think its gonna be a case of heart ruling head or maybe vice versa :)
I want the chuckability and performance of the 172 in a very comfortable , biggish car... Maybe an R32 golf is a better choice...

Cool just thinking of a 172 - quick, nice amount of standard equipment, decent re-sale value, sweet car..
Golf tdi 150 diesel - 236 lb/ft torque, easily tuneable, can get 19s on it without a problem, big boot...more sensible option i suppose..
Arrrgh! cant decide!! wot to buy??
As an all rounder what would be the better car? Course they are very different propositions, but which would you choose? The out and out performance of the clio or the Huuuge massive splattering of torque in the golf?
