the wheel can only go on at one position. so when you take the steerign wheel off just make sure you dont rotate the wheel sensor. Then it will go back on ok in the correct position.
dunno if a rstuner reset will clear it?
i woudlnt be happy jacking it on the sump. is that what everybody else does? i was thinking of buying a frame to fit over the top of the engine and using the lifting hook.
btw did you have the tool to release the tension on the tensioner? what size socket is it again 3/8"?
i had a omp boss so cant comment but i know mine was a b**ch to get the connectors through until filing. i also had to fit to lugs onto the boss to drive the angular wheel sensor. i think the wheel sensor only on abs models?
what part of the engine are you jacking it up on underneath? when you remove the drivers side engine mount? i am going to give this a go next time mine due.
mine failed last week i was due a cambelt change in april so had the lot done then. was just charged for the alternator no labour. but that was just shy of £200!

does it look lower than the other side. get someone to sit in at the back and jump up and down see what the rebound is like.
but it is recommended to repalce in pairs for shocks.
any electrical contact cleaner cleans off permanent marker pen. You just wipe it off.
a solvent cleaner is what you want that dries quickly.

why is it that some garages dont change the pre-tensioner out at the same time as doing the aux belt + cambelt as standard. Its like £90 more but can save you hundreds if it needs replacing a few months down the line.
just done some more testing.
- with the engine on and the battery d/c from the alternator i get 1.4v from the alternator.
- 12.28v with the engine running all connected.
- alternator case to earth less 500mV. so no problems there.
