my pug used to do it, lots of short journeys, but no permanent damage unless it get properly clogged. the pug would clear out once the weather warmed up, so yours may too... like the others said, its just cause the engines not getting up to temp, headgasket unlikely...
Why not just run it down to the lower grille instead of removing a fog light, it would not effect the amount of air and would not ruin the front of your cup...
i considered one and was told it was group 17, and i think theyre all 12 valvers the vr6s, and theyre quicker than some figures suggest, would see off a valver in a straight line no probs, not quite as good on the twisties tho
theyre about 19 secs 0-100 time, and they get quicker with...

i quite fancy one of those hartge minis, they look the biz.. and just to sit on the fence i reckon mini drivers vary...as do clio drivers.....some are sound and some have got nothing better to do than go on about how good they are and how they thrashed daz in his saxo....and i can fit 4 hot...

I reckon its really poor that the people on the service desk at a main dealer dont know the intervals for all models off by heart..
to confuse things further, i received a welcome pack a couple of weeks after buying my car which also said 18k service interval, it even had my cars specific...
scott,
mine tops out at the same as yours until warm, i reckon it takes about 15-20 mins before limiter goes to 7200... always has since i first hit limiter at abot 600 miles, so dont think its mileage related. try it again after a decent run.

scott, i agree with you completely about changing oil regularly, but ive read that its better not to be over hasty with the first one as it prevents the engine bedding in properly. I believe the oil from the factory is a mineral oil designed to allow a degree of natural intended wear so that...
mine does it too, and if its any reassurance my old pug 306 did exactly the same thing, and never gave any trouble in over 50k so i reckon its nowt to worry about.
pretty quick arent they, you pleased with yours funky?

p.a.
i went from an s16 pug to a cup, insurance went from 600-750 with directline (28 yo, 4yrs ncb), so pretty similar situation to you. tesco were also competitive but messed me around too much with my pug so i fu??ed them off.
