Jesus, if you like it, keep it! Cars will vary with reliability, for example, my mate has a two year old BMW 320 he's had since new and its been back to the dealer 5 times already - its a pile of cr*p. I have a 12 year old Williams with which I've had no problems.
Best thing to do is use it...
Indeed, looking at the 'official' Williams register;
http:/http://www.williamsregister.blogspot.com/
...it looks like there are a mix of LHD and RHD cars within the 1st cars but it only goes up to 400?
Its definately a Williams 1, its an L reg for a start, and has the ph1 grille and mirrors.
I thought the UK cars were still numbered 0001 - 0390? I have 0025 which is one of the first cars built and it's RHD...
It IS illegal if there are any sharp pieces of metal exposed. The offence is "driving a motor vehicle in a condition which is likely to cause injury to others". Ie, if your car strikes a pedestrian with sharp bits sticking out it'll do a lot more damage. Still, if you drive into someone, chances...
Sorry, its an open induction kit. Sits at the front of the engine in place of the four big air pipes (from the standard unit). Most of them look like four trumpets and they really suck the air in making for better fuel combustion = more power! Havnt got one myself yet but thinking about it. Not...
Firstly, ditch the K&N filter! These actually arnt as good as the standard item!!
Best power gains are prob from throttle bodies, upgraded manifold and maybe an open IK system, though I'm no expert in engine mods...
My Williams is as mint as it left the factory 12 years ago. I've had it almost 3 years now and not had any problems with it (though ive been through tyres and brakes like no ones busniness!!), 30 mpg on avergage and use it everyday, currently paying only £390 per year fully comp with breakdown...
Is it a gentle pull? If so its probally tourque steer. 2 litre Clios are known for this. However, if it snatches away from you there's prob something not right! Does if also pull under braking?
Had a CVR6 before my Williams. Great cars, fantastic engine, but no-where near as much fun. I could get it to understeer in the VR6 if I really pushed it, and I've yet to achieve this with the Williams!
They only made circa 400 of the original Williams iirc. I agree, this probally wont be driven, which is a shame. I've got chassis number 25, bought it mint with only 30k on the clock just over two years ago, and I paid good money for it as it was utterly showroom condition (and still is). I...
I've had my Williams for over two years, and has been completely bullet proof! And, its got no rust whatsoever, in fact, I washed and polished it yesterday and it looks showroom, not bad for a 12 year old car!
Good ones still exist though but you really have to look for them (took me three...
Thats a good point. The positioning of the lamps is partly why they are resticted. In wet conditions because the lights are so low and intense (more intense than non xenon headlamps anyway!) they will 'blanket light' the road, meaning you'll get a nasty relection which is more dazzling than the...
No. In 20 years of driving I've never driven in fog! Course I have, LOL!
I think you have misunderstood my comment. By main beam, read 'dipped beam' (main beam I believe is the correct term for the dipped beam, meaning the main headlight itself, though I could be wrong). I think you have...
I'm not a fan of modded cars but curiosity got the better of me and had to have a look...
Have to say, from what I've seen (personal preferences aside), the finish is absolutely supurb. Where would the number plate go though, as putting that on would ruin it!
(and what engine has it got?)
Take it from me (and others will confirm this) its not legit! Fog lights on. No fog. £30 non endorsable fine to you sir! Other lights on the vehicle will not be taken into consideration (unless they are broken, and that'll make things worse!)
The bit about side lights and fogs - totally not true, where did you get this idea from???? With only side lights and fogs, you are actually committing two offences. It is illegal to use fog ligjhts unless there is seriously reduced visibility (less than 100 metres), full stop. And if the...
Yeah, the one with two wires is the feed and the earth wire. The other terminal should only have 1 wire.
A loose terminal will make the car play up, thats what caused my problem.
I had exactly the same problem on my Williams an hour ago (non standard alarm). Power diverted away from starter and when I closed the door got a clicking from under the bonnet. Diagnosed the alarm / immobiliser was having problems arming and thought it was cutting power to my car. Quick...
