Thankfully, these so called 'community wardens' are few and far between, and yes, they have NO powers of enforcement and certainly no powers whatsoever to stop a vehicle. They are not police officers (obviously), but are probally communicating with police in much the same way as neighbourhood...
Crazy - get yourself down to your local police station and ask if you can be a civilian observer for the evening with a shift, and be prepared to open your eyes.
Sorry, what your talking about are all grade 1 immidiate calls. NO police force wouldnt attend any of those incidents within 4 minutes. Lets look at what your talking about;
1 - a robbery involving a leathal weapon
2 - A drunk driver out of control smashing into traffic
3 - a car jacking...
I really dont understand why there are so many anti police comments on this website. Crazy Clio - thats a very strong opinion, which of course you are entitled to (even if its completely wrong) but I would be intrigued to know on what personal experience that is based on. The police do a tough...
Sorry, thats hard to believe! If thats the truth your mate should make an issue of it as its stright forward criminal damage (as long as there was actually damage!) - but I dont think any police officer would try to glaze that over as 'kids playing', he'd get dragged across the coles by his boss!
Well said. All the 'police do nothing' qoutes are a bit nieve. Do people think police officers walk around with crystal balls containing all the info they need. "No officer, I didnt see anything, my neighbours didnt, there is no CCTV, and I have no information that might assist any further...
Gutted. Whats the point in that????
I dont know whats wrong with this country. Why do people, when they cant have something and someone else can, they have to damage or destroy it, rather than admire it. I was in France last year and I was parked up in a supermarket car park when a group of...
Completely depends on your insurance company. Give them a bell and ask them.
You can drive in law without an MOT, but only to and from the MOT garage. Therefore I would suggest there are some insurance companies that will still cover you.
Most stipulate you will be insured as long as you...
Re: f**kin Stupid b*tch
Here we go. Highway / road as defined in the Road Traffic Act;
"..any highway and any other road to which the public has access, and includes bridges over which any road passes."
And a 'Public Place' for the purposes of this act, it must be shown by the prosecution...
Re: f**kin Stupid b*tch
As I said SUPERMARKET CAR PARKS ARE PUBLIC HIGHWAYS!! Even if privately owned. Any place where the public has access general to is a public highway. There is even a stated case saying a farmers field, that didnt have a gate, was a public highway as the public had...
Re: f**kin Stupid b*tch
Not true, car park is still a public highway like anywhere else, even if its on 'private land'. Anywhere that opens itself to the public, private land or not is covered. I think the definition of highway is "any place where the public have general access to" or...
Re: f**kin Stupid b*tch
Crime keeps going up and up and the Goverment ignore it - there are less PC's in my area working on shift, than there were 3 years ago, trust me I know!
The government want ALL crimes investigated. Every job a PC goes to involves an investigation - its not simply a...
Re: f**kin Stupid b*tch
Report it to police - preferably within 24 hours. As already said, she's committed two offences, leaving the scene of an accident and failing to pass her details.
She could get 6 points for those two, worth doing just to piss her off! That'll teach her a lesson. Get...
I'm not just saying this because I'm bias, but imo the Williams sounds A LOT better than a 172! I'm talking standard, like for like here.
I test drove a 172 before I bought my Williams, having already driven the Williams, and one of the first things I thought when driving the 172 was that it...
That is such a common misconception!! Mine has NO rust anywhere (1994 Williams 1), and my friends williams has no rust either! Neither are for sale tho... You just need to look for a while, it took me 3 years to find my mint one.
Without sounding anal, its against the law to use front or rear fog lights unless there is seriously reduced visibility, defined as less than 100 yards. The penalty for this is a £30 non endorsable fine!
As for using them in the rain, prob worst situation to use them with cos they are so low...
Thinking of taking my Williams there for a service, as whenever I mention the word "williams" to my local Renault dealer I get a sharp suck in of air and a "hmmm, the Williams has a special price!" which is normally over £300 for a basic service!!!!
Do they do MOTs as well?
...no Mike, its a 1/4 of a mile!!! 5 min walk!
I wonder why our roads are being clogged up these days, hmmm.......
Not only that, these silly little trips with their high MPG figures are wasting our precious petrol reserves which we could use for blatting around the countryside enjoying...
Drives a 1/4 mile to school????? Then 400 yards to work?????
Bikes are great for that, and you get really great MPG from those. I can do about one mars bar every 5 miles...
Am I the only one who thinks the car looks a little naff?? I mean, the chrome surround around the front and rear fog light recesses are just tacky, and the rear end sucks big time. Granted, a great car, brilliant engine, but I imo the car just looks like any top of the range Ford with big...
...its also to do with how easy they are to nick (thats why the Belmont is in there, its statistically the easiest car to steal - its not cos its good to drive!!!). They wont target a car they wont be able to start or get into.
Hey, I dont piss in public! I was saying that I'd like to drive the 182 etc as the 172 was pretty much the same as the Williams in terms of performance... Trying to add a balanced view as all the Willy talk was of modified ones!
Mine is completely and utterly standard (bar the stereo but, I have the original boxed up and ready to put in should I ever sell it to a purist!) - no mods whatsoever and it is cartainly as quick off the line as a 172 full fat, and having driven both feels the more responsive of the two. Not...
...my comment wasnt intended to be 'arsy' I just think its sad grown ups are still having an evolved "my dad can beat up your dad" arguement! Both are great cars, plain and simple.
