Yes, undoubtedly, get amp/sub rather than the 6x9" speakers! The sub will go so much lower and sound so much better than... well, thats my opinion anyhow.
Scott.
Yeah, you could do that, but I would have thought that it would be more complicated - installing a fuse at the battery, running power cable thru the firewall, ground wire from amp to chassis, remote wires to the amp, RCAs from the HU to the amp and then speaker lines from the amp to the...
Ok, so if youve got a new head unit, then cant you just run the wires directly from the head unit to the back speakers? Or am I missing something? You shouldnt need to do any splitting or anything to get the wires down there. The head unit manual will tell you which wires need to go to the...
Yeah, I know kappa isnt heavy - He was saying he wanted a light sub! There are lighter ones again, but I think the kappa is fairly light for reasonable performance and price. its box is too big for it too, so it would be a little bit lighter with a proper box.
As I said, its going soon in...
Yeah, ditch the 6x9" if youre getting a sub and if you have good speakers at the front. Also, if you dont want to take up too much boot space with an amp, and you havent already bought it, then maybe you could think about getting a fan cooled amp like audison or boston.
I dont know anything...
Also, check out Infinity speakers. If you can find the green Kappa speakers, then theyre great value for money (but I think theres not many around anymore). Most Inifinity speakers are great quality and not too expensive.
You can buy an alpine HU, or lower model Pioneer HU and keep the stalk controls. i think the only one that keeps the display as well is Sony. But check the FAQ and other posts - theres stacks of info on which type of adapter are available for different head units. Theyre pretty expensive though...
Hi!
If you really want to be sure that it all works properly, and if you get the best sound, then ditch the factory head unit and buy a 3rd party one. You can get a nice Pioneer HU or something similar for not all that much. Then, run your own wires to the back and the front.
Of course...
Dont know about this model, since I havent looked inside the doors, but I had another car once that was leaking like that because the plastic sheeting over the inside of the door was removed. The water was free to run down the window glass and into the inside of the door, and it comes out a tiny...
Oh, ok. So if it is an alpine stacker, then I assume its a custom one, or at least, one with custom wiring and/or plugs? Or is it a normal alpine stacker?
Im going to ditch the factory head unit anyhow, so I guess the stacker might be ditched along with it. But since Im going to be getting...
Nah, thats what I said a few posts back - I havent got the car yet and so I want to plan my system so I can budget for it etc... But yeah, If I had the car Id just go measure it myself!
Yeah, maybe width wise they will fit easily... but I dont know about the depth. Theyre fairly deep speakers which is why Im trying to find out what will fit. The three types of splits Im thinking of are 6.1cm, 7.1cm or 7.7cm. Do you reckon theres enough depth there for that? Cutting plastic out...
What did you have to do to get them to fit? Was it a problem with the depth or hole-size? Or both? If you had to enlarge the holes, how much work is it to do that?
Im really just trying to find out what will fit in the factory holes, but nobody seems to say! I havent got my car yet, which is...
Hi Everyone!
Actually, Im looking for maximum speaker depth that can be used with the factory holes in a 2002 Clio Sport (or maybe the depth including a bit of mdf spacer or something).
Ive asked at a few places, and nobody seems to know/say.
So alternatively, can anyone tell me what...
Where did you find those?
Do they fit onto the clio? Does anyone know what the max speaker depth is in the door using the standard hole (i.e. no pod or spacer)
Hi Everyone,
I was wondering how hard (or easy) it is to get 6" speakers into the clio doors.
Is it possible to do this by enlarging the speaker hole rather than getting pods etc? If I can just cut the hole bigger, how hard is it to do this?
Also, whats the max speaker depth before it...
