Yeah, ditch the 6x9" if youre getting a sub and if you have good speakers at the front. Also, if you dont want to take up too much boot space with an amp, and you havent already bought it, then maybe you could think about getting a fan cooled amp like audison or boston. I dont know anything...

Also, check out Infinity speakers. If you can find the green Kappa speakers, then theyre great value for money (but I think theres not many around anymore). Most Inifinity speakers are great quality and not too expensive.

You can buy an alpine HU, or lower model Pioneer HU and keep the stalk controls. i think the only one that keeps the display as well is Sony. But check the FAQ and other posts - theres stacks of info on which type of adapter are available for different head units. Theyre pretty expensive though...
